Peter
struggles to express his feelings to
Mary Jane;
he cannot bring himself to tell her, that he's in love
with her: Sometimes, we take it for granted that we love ourselves.
Yet, the reality of the situation, doesn't always align with our
rational
thoughts. Let us reflect: ...how can we truly love
ourselves,
if
we don't love
and respect
the One
who
created us?
It's no coincidence, that when we fail to follow the Ten
Commandments,
we are highly likely to fall prey to vices.
And is it not vices, that wound our
soul
(Mary
Jane)?
Otto
Octavius
tells Peter,
that if he keeps something as complex as love
locked away in his heart, he will fall sick.
Indeed, Peter is going through a time when everything is going
wrong—both at school and at work; he even forgets
his own birthday: If we close our hearts
to a force as powerful
and positive as love,
it's only natural that things go awry. For instance, the events that
unfold in our lives, will seem overshadowed
by sadness and anguish. We will no longer be able to make sense, of
the reality around us. And as if that were not enough, we will feel a
terrible sense of emptiness
and futility
deep
within. Furthermore, by shutting
our hearts to
love,
we place limits on the Holy
Spirit;
which upon seeing a closed heart, the Holy
Spirit
cannot bestow His
Seven Gifts
of benevolence
and serenity
(Holy
Fear of
God,
Fortitude,
Understanding,
Knowledge,
Wisdom,
Piety,
and Counsel).
And that is not all... for by shutting our hearts to love,
we run the risk of forgetting
ourselves—as
Peter does, when he forgets
his own birthday—and
forgetting who we truly are:
children of
God.
The
reflections offered by Octavius,
ring true:
the gifts
we
possess,
were
not bestowed upon us so that we might boast or exalt ourselves before
friends and family... but rather to be placed at the
service of
others.
Only in this way, will we fulfill
our mission—which
is to spread
love
throughout the world.
Yet,
alas... not everyone manages to remain steadfast
in times of trial. And so, it happens that the gifts
and talents we have, are sometimes used to serve
our own arrogant egos—much
like what happened long ago to certain angelic hosts who, despite
their great intelligence... rebelled
against God.
After
seeing
Mary Jane kiss
her
boyfriend,
Peter begins to experience problems
with his
superpowers.
For instance, he cannot shoot his webs and develops a fear
of heights:
What happens when an individual severs the connection with his
spiritual
side (represented
by Mary
Jane)?
The movie reveals this to us—specifically, at the moment Mary
Jane becomes
involved with a young man (J. J. Jameson’s son)
whom she doesn't
truly
love.
In short,
when our Ego
separates
from its spirituality
to pursue the false lights of a hedonistic world, the innate forces
we possess (Spider-Man’s
superpowers)
not only diminish... but also lead us to make wrong choices.
Spider-Man’s fear
of heights,
symbolizes
the anxiety some people feel, when approaching the "heights"
of the Sacraments,
Faith
and Spirituality.
This occurs because the Ego—having
become alienated from its spiritual
essence
(Mary Jane)—perceives these wonderful spiritual realities, as dead
and valueless entities. Essentially, arises the fear of committing
acts that could demean oneself,
whereas,
as we all know, the exact opposite is true.
Indeed, those who drift away from their spiritual
identity,
become
like "puppets"
in the hands of evil,
no longer able to discern
truth
from falsehood.
Consequently, our
virtues
(Spider-Man’s
superpowers)—which
enable us to transcend the cold "towers"
of rationalism
(represented by Spider-Man swinging above New York’s
skyscrapers)—begin
to wane.
Peter
doesn't tell Mary
Jane that
he's Spider-Man,
for fear that his enemies might harm her: In this narrative context,
we can see Spider-Man
as
an allegory for those who fear
expressing their positive
feelings,
regarding
Faith.
After all, in a world where brute force, violence, greed,
lust
and avarice
are viewed as acceptable norms... those who are not resolutely and
decisively aligned with their own souls,
inevitably
succumb to that terrible, monstrous force: ...fear.
What, then, can be done to overcome this troublesome obstacle? It's
simple: one must turn to the
Holy Spirit—the
Giver
of
Fortitude—and
ask for help
through Prayer.
Dr.
Octavius is
conducting experiments on fusion energy, with the aim
of providing low-cost energy to everyone: The drive to lead humanity
toward new scientific
and technological
breakthroughs, can cause some people to believe they are a
superior being.
In essence, Dr. Octavius symbolizes
those who attempt to reach God,
through
remarkable human
achievements and
discoveries that lack
a spiritual dimension—such as those who relentlessly pursue human
science while disregarding Divine
Wisdom.
This phenomenon, explains why some scientists,
intoxicated by their numerous discoveries...
come to believe they have become like the gods
of Greek
mythology.
This unfortunate
reality, is one of the factors that has led our
modern society...
back to paganism.
Dr.
Otto
Octavius,
at a press conference... presents his four actuators—or mechanical
arms—which
are resistant to heat and magnetism. These mechanical arms, are
controlled
by his brain via
a neural link. Octavius employs an inhibitor chip, to protect
his brain functions, and maintain control
over the arms... ensuring they don't end up controlling him: If we
stray far from the holy
laws God has
entrusted to us, it's futile to think we can truly control
our own mental faculties. Indeed, to persevere
in goodness
and virtue...
possessing "good
will"
is not enough; one also needs the humility
to seek
counsel
and help
from the Lord.
One need only examine—with discernment—the politicians and
autocrats throughout history, to discover that, in truth... almost
all of them yearned to bring peace and progress to their people. Yet,
how many truly succeeded?
We are all familiar with the history
books. The reason for this, is simple... do all these plutocrats
follow
the truths
revealed in the Gospels?
No.
Deprived
of Faith...
unjust laws take root in hearts darkened by rationalism
and hedonism. For instance, unjust laws begin to emerge... such as
the regulations that approving abortion,
euthanasia,
lust,
the illicit possession of material goods, and the idolatry
of
money.
That
much-vaunted "justice"
...often serves merely to safeguard the vast holdings of the greedy.
And
in the face of this revolting scenario, what do we hope to achieve?
That God
stands beside us, in our sin? Let us forget that! And so, the Lord
abandons
us to
our vices,
saturated as we are in hedonism and individualism. It's precisely
into this bleak family tableau, that Dr. Octavius enters—a
man who, despite his conviction to the contrary... cannot possibly
maintain full, effective control
over himself.
Furthermore, his mechanical
arms underscore
a tendency to act with cold rationality, leaving him devoid of the
very thing that makes a man a true person:
love (his
wife
having died).
When
tritium energy is generated, Octavius
declares that he holds the power
of the sun...
in the palm of his hand: This is what Octavius
truly craved: ...power.
And here, we identify the real reason why so many autocrats,
politicians and despots, fail to embrace true
justice,
peace
and brotherhood.
It's clear that autocrats, greedily
coveting supremacy
over nations; view the populace merely as pawns
moving across a chessboard. One need only reflect for a moment:
...what does seizing power mean, to such people? It means feeling
superior
to others. Once this illusory and despicable
goal is
achieved, any quality they wish to possess must be mirrored in those
around them; otherwise, those people are eliminated or mocked. Giant
portraits, grandiose slogans, monuments and the like... serve to
convince the unsuspecting public, that the “demigod”
of the
moment,
has
reached the very limits of the "sun"—and
must therefore be idolized
by the clamoring masses. How far removed is all this, from our own
reality today?
The
fusion reaction spirals out
of control;
despite
being told to stop... Octavius
continues
unperturbed.
He insists that it will stabilize. In the end,
Octavius’s wife is
killed:
Deprived of one's
soul—represented
here by his wife—one
begins to turn cruel
and unscrupulous. This is precisely what happens to Doctor
Octavius:
upon losing his wife,
he transforms
into the wicked
and sinister "Doctor
Octopus".
Dr.
Octavius’s
inhibitor chip, shatters. He begins to heed the insidious, tempting
voice
of his mechanical
arms:
And it's worth noting that the moment one ceases to listen to one’s
conscience—represented
by Octavius’s deceased wife—our
eternal enemy, Satan (manifested here as tentacles
hissing
like small serpents),
begins to whisper his
lies.
Thus, we shouldn't always blame our eternal enemy for every sin we
commit... for it's often our
own corrupted will and
selfish
ego,
that slyly
draw us toward the tempter. Dr. Octopus, creating a miniature sun
with his contraption, exemplifies those who sadly devote all their
resources and knowledge, to forging a false
god.
Relying solely on their own
intellect, they dogmatically deny any reality that doesn't align with
modernist
thought. These great "know-it-alls"
concoct a thousand excuses, to validate their false
doctrines—doctrines that belittle and mock Gospel
truths. In doing so, they generate a powerful theory (such as
evolution)—akin
to a mass of filaments charged with a deceptively brilliant
energy—which, over time, transforms them into
individuals devoid of soul...
in short, devoid of God.
The film’s lesson is that we must not let ourselves be consumed
by idolatry,
as Dr. Octopus was; instead, we must overcome the temptations of
pseudo-omnipotence... through Prayer
and the Sacraments.
Spider-Man
saves
Aunt
May.
From
that moment on, Aunt May changes
her opinion
of Spider-Man, coming to respect
him: To safeguard the Faith
and virtues
threatened by hedonism
and concupiscence, one must battle one's own instinctual
nature—a force that, like a massive
tentacled octopus,
seeks to deprive
us
of the truth.
In short, we have to put on the garment of humility;
just as
Spider-Man
does
when he puts on his battle
suit.
Fittingly, the spider
symbol
reminds us, that even the small
and humble—like
spiders—possess
a strength far greater than those who arrogantly, believe themselves
superior and more powerful than others. When we strive
to cultivate virtues,
we make them
our allies;
they
boost our self-confidence and sustain our hope
in the Lord's
mercy.
And
also, eliminating any feelings of guilt,
that might
otherwise drive us to despair.
The
moving picture highlights this moment, when Peter
confesses to Aunt
May
that he bore some responsibility for Uncle
Ben's
death.
It's precisely then—after an initial moment of shock—that Aunt
May comforts
him,
helping him let go of needless
guilt.
Harry
is furious
over the loss of his fame, success
and wealth—all because of Octavius.
Furthermore, he resents
Peter
for being more loyal
to Spider-Man
than
to him: This reveals why Harry
turns wicked
over time: ...the reason lies in his relentless and voracious desire,
to achieve fame,
wealth and success at any
cost.
And when
someone tries to stop him, from reaching this centuries-old and
deceptive goal? Simple: ...Harry’s
anger
intensifies, and with it, his hatred.
They are twin
sisters who,
together, form a potent poison
that feeds Harry’s heart
...with twisted thoughts of destruction and revenge.
We might also note Harry’s complaint to Peter, about being a
confidant to Spider-Man—a
figure who stands as a clear symbol of truth,
humility
and honesty.
Naturally, those (like Harry)
who delight in submit to worldly
pleasures,
loathe
and scornfully, reject anyone (like Spider-Man)
who refuses to follow their iniquitous dictates.
Mary
Jane complains
to Peter,
reiterating that while others have seen her perform on stage...
he hasn't. After all these years... Peter is merely an “empty
space”:
Mary
Jane’s complaint to Peter,
embodies
the soul
of those who have momentarily chosen to live a mediocre
life,
relegating their soul
(Mary
Jane)
to the depths of the unconscious... without giving it the attention
and care
it deserves. Furthermore, when we let our soul
wither, we trigger an internal schism
that inevitably creates inner imbalance;
allowing the soul to align with a fabricated aspect of our being
(represented by J. J. Jameson’s son).
Ultimately, by failing to nurture one's spirituality, the individual
creates an "alter
ego"
that—while coexisting with the soul—doesn't
embody an
authentic self-image,
but rather a completely distorted
one.
In
the end, if
we neglect
our spirituality,
the soul
becomes numb to all that signifies benevolence and altruism.
Moreover, the soul tends to become shackled
to those who pursue materialism
and purely earthly pleasures. In conclusion, if we allow vice
and sin
to enter our
hearts,
we risk creating a spiritual
void (echoing
Mary Jane telling Peter he is an "empty
space").
We
may then, sadly attempt to fill this "empty
space",
by seeking carnal pleasures... harboring the illusory hope of
remedying a spiritual deficit.
Beyond
losing the ability to climb walls, Peter’s
eyesight
begins to fail.
Consequently, he puts his glasses back on: If we abandon our soul
to vice, it's only natural that we can no longer scale the "wall"
of Faith
and Hope.
Not to mention the fact, that we are becoming nearsighted... no
longer able to perceive heavenly
realities,
because we have repudiated
them.
While
speaking with his doctor,
Peter
admits he doesn't know what to think about himself. The doctor
replies, that not knowing who you are... must drive you mad—for the
soul
withers away: When we fail to follow the Gospel
and the Ten
Commandments with
love
and truth,
we lose
ourselves.
Those
who believe they have no soul,
don't nourish it through Prayer
and the Sacraments;
naturally, the soul then languishes.
In
a conversation with Uncle
Ben,
Peter reveals he is in love
with Mary
Jane.
He then declares that he cannot
live out his
dreams,
and for this reason, decides to stop
being
Spider-Man:
Peter conversing and confiding in Uncle
Ben,
symbolizes
our own "self"
in dialogue with God
the Father.
At the
same time, Peter’s decision to give
up being
Spider-Man
...represents the person who chooses
not to follow God.
A question
naturally arises: ...what happens if we lose
sight,
of the
arduous yet truthful path of righteousness?
What happens if we abandon the struggle and effort required, to
remain steadfast
in virtue—simply
because virtue
doesn't align
with our dreams of self-indulgence? Ultimately, even if it seems we
are gaining something, we are actually
losing hope,
Faith,
and the radiant joy
within our
hearts.
It's at this point, that we cast off the armor
bestowed by the Holy
Spirit—represented
by Spider-Man’s
battle suit—into
the filthy "trash bin" of base desires. In short, if we
hypocritically abandon the
good spiritual fight,
we risk plunging miserably into the crucible of manifold vices.
Peter
no longer goes to the aid
of others
in danger; he thinks only of himself.
Peter begins to do well in school: This is what happens, when one
abandons the spiritual
path to
follow the more lighthearted, hedonistic route of wrongdoing—the
supreme virtue is lost: charity
and
Love.
This helps us understand, how those who are greedy, selfish,
arrogant, envious and so forth, have shut
God the Father (Uncle
Ben)
out
of their lives in order to tacitly heed the insidious whispers of
corruption and debauchery. It stands to reason that when one thinks
solely of oneself, worldly affairs prosper (just as Peter suddenly
excels
at school,
once he
gives up being Spider-Man).
Peter
goes to the theater,
to see Mary
Jane perform.
She reaffirms that she is a different person now—no longer an
"empty
space":
Peter now likes to gaze at his
soul (Mary
Jane)
in a masked
state—no longer real and truthful—because he has chosen to hide
his
true emotions and feelings.
His
very soul has become a sort of old-fashioned
damsel,
to
be admired on a stage. Yet, how much does all this actually help one,
to become one's true self, to reach spiritual
heights,
or
to be authentic, grounded and genuine?
While
speaking with Aunt
May,
Peter
admits he is responsible
for Uncle
Ben's death.
He explains that he failed to stop the thief who killed Uncle Ben,
because he wanted revenge
on the man who had refused to pay him: This is where the spirit of
vengeance
leads: ...to committing or allowing further wrongs and injustices.
We have to remember, that the desire for retaliation, stems from
feelings of anger, hatred and resentment—impulses
that not only harm others but, like a boomerang,
come back to strike
us...
when we least expect it. For there is a universal
rule:
...what
we do to others, comes back to us.
Crime
in New
York City—without
Spider-Man—is
rising by 70%: If we
give up the
fight
for the righteous
ideals of peace,
solidarity and love...
it's only natural for evil and injustice to run
rampant.
We need only look at those who, throughout history... have worked
hard to bring out fair
and honest
laws.
And let us consider what would have happened, if these bearers of
peace and truth... hadn't donated the light
of their wisdom
with the world. Indeed, we would find ourselves in utter darkness.
Ultimately, the film’s message is crystal clear and simple: ...each
of us must pursue
our own mission—that
of spreading
Love throughout
the world.
Peter
rescues a little
girl trapped
inside a burning
building. Just as Peter is about to plummet, the girl helps him. In
the end, Peter saves
her:
From this, we can infer that Peter
symbolizes the individual "Self"
facing
a dilemma: should he follow the "fire"
of love
and save his own soul
(represented by the little
girl),
or should he flee? Fortunately, Peter chooses the former; in doing
so, the fire
of the Holy
Spirit’s love enters his heart.
This moment is clearly marked, when Peter
finds the
little girl
locked in a closet—a
potent symbol of a heart
(the closet), closed off to love
(the fire).
At
the same time, the little
girl
taking
Spider-Man’s
hand
and saving
him from a disastrous fall, reminds us that if we strive with all our
might to rescue our soul
from danger, we are, in reality... saving
ourselves.
Saving ourselves from what? From another fire—the fire
of hell.
Aunt
May tells
Peter
that it took courage
for him to speak to her, about what happened with Uncle
Ben;
and
she adds that she
is proud of him:
Why do so many people not go to Confession?
It's simple: they lack
the courage
to voice their sins,
weaknesses and mistakes... to others. They unfortunately forget, that
behind the priest's vestments... lies
God the Father,
who
grants
us His
forgiveness
through the infinite
Merits of
the Most
Precious
Blood of Jesus.
Admittedly, it can be humbling
to confess
one's sins to another person. Yet, what a sense of inner
joy and
liberation, follows Confession.
The
movie reminds us that, beyond receiving the Sacraments,
we must live in a way that aligns
with what we profess
in words.
Today's world needs courageous
witnesses—much
like Spider-Man...
who, even when no one believes in him (such
as
J. Jonah Jameson),
doesn't lose heart and continues
his fight against the forces of evil (vices
and disordered desires).
Aunt
May declares
that there is a hero
in all
of us—a
hero
who keeps us honest,
gives us strength
and ennobles
us—even when we must sometimes give
up the
things we
desire
most.
At times, we may even have to renounce
our
dreams:
There is a hero
in all of us; and how could we forget that, within our hearts, we all
hold the heroic
laws
of the Ten
Commandments? But
what must we do, to become
heroes
of the spirit?
Aunt
May provides
the example: ...we must abandon
the deceptive
dreams that
lead us toward unhealthy passions... and heroically
follow the moral
path
set out by the Ten
Commandments of love—laws
that God
has inscribed
upon our hearts.
Only
when Doctor
Octopus
abducts Mary
Jane,
does
Peter
regain
his clear vision
and his Spider-Man
superpowers:
When we are seized by the "octopus"
of sin,
we must regain our
strength—our
"Spider-Man
superpowers"—by
turning to
Prayer and
Sacraments such
as Confession
and the Eucharist.
We do this, to defeat the "tentacles"
of evil
...that seek to grasp our
soul—represented
by Mary
Jane—and
destroy it.
Because
of Doctor
Octopus,
Spider-Man
finds
himself on a speeding
train
with no brakes. He removes his mask
in an attempt to stop the train, which is packed with passengers:
At times, in our unbridled pursuit of illicit and vicious pleasures,
we race along as if on a "train"
devoid of limits, brakes, laws or rules. In doing so, we risk
annihilating and destroying
our souls.
We must remove
the
"mask"
imposed upon us by a dissolute, rationalist
society;
only then... can we
save ourselves and
others (people
aboard
the train).
Spider-Man
is
aided
and supported by the people
on the train:
Even heroes
of the Faith,
need
the help of their neighbors.
And how can those who bear the burdensome task of proclaiming Gospel
truths, be supported? It's simple: through Prayer—a
concept depicted with great clarity in the moving picture, at the
very moment people rally to support
an exhausted
Spider-Man.
Do we truly believe that saints,
martyrs, prophets and victim souls, have no need of our
Prayers and
sacrifices? Let
us remember, that we
are all part of
a wondrous
Mystical Body;
and
that a Prayer
or act of charity
performed by a single
person
...have repercussions throughout all
the members
of that Mystical
Body.
Filled
with rage,
Harry
declares to
Spider-Man,
"If only I could inflict upon you... the harm, you have caused
me": This sentiment sheds light on why, over time... Harry
takes on the persona of the Green
Goblin.
Indeed,
when one follows the path of hatred,
evil and vengeance...
one becomes like the quintessential malevolent goblin:
Satan (the Green
Goblin).
Peter
tells Octavius,
that
those mechanical
arms have
transformed him into something he is not. He also urges him, not
to listen to them:
Precisely... when we embrace the temptations
suggested by the evil one, we become different
people... and lose the Sanctifying
Grace that
unites us with God;
at the same time, we begin to resemble our eternal enemy (like Harry
becoming the Green
Goblin).
Peter’s
advice
is not to listen the tentacled flattery of Vice,
when
they arrive at the threshold of our hearts... but to
cast them far away with
Jesus's
help.
Otherwise, vice
will take possession
of our minds, and we risk transforming into someone like Doctor
Octopus... who became a slave
to his own arrogance.
Octavius
claims
it was his
dream.
Peter
replies... that sometimes, to
do
the right thing...
one must
stand firm and renounce
what one desires
most.
In the end, Octavius uses his
willpower...
to force the mechanical arms to obey
him:
As we have just seen, remaining steadfast
in our resolve to follow the
path of Good and
Justice,
requires
a strong
dose
of Good
Will.
Naturally, Prayer
is also essential—calling
upon Jesus
and the Most Holy Mary,
to
sustain us during trials. Yet, we must remember that Prayer
alone, devoid
of Good
Will...
becomes merely a palliative measure.
In
the end, the massive machine,
along with Octavius...
plunges into the river
below: This is the exemplary fate that sooner or later, awaits all
the idols
humanity exalts and elevates—setting them up as arrogant trophies
before God.
Such idols include thoughts of dominance, greed,
extramarital
sex,
purely human science and so forth. Thus, for those who stubbornly
persist in sin,
there is little cause for laughter; ...ruin is knocking
at the door. Which door? The door to eternity.
Mary
Jane
discovers that Peter
is Spider-Man,
as
he has removed
his mask.
Peter finally confides
in Mary Jane that he is in love
with her: The society around us, chases after the fads of the moment
as if they were idols to be worshiped and venerated. In other words,
trends steeped in rationalism, hedonism
and modernism,
have
a destructive effect: ...they impose a way of behaving upon us,
that—like a
malevolent mask—clings
to our common mindset. It's a terrible and monstrous mask,
that
prevents us from loving
our own soul.
All
this happens, when we become trapped in the web
of lies
imposed by
consumerist society.
Consequently, we fail to heed the inner, spiritual
needs that must be embraced for the soul
to survive.
Ultimately, remaining anchored to earthly pleasures... deprives us of
the time and space needed for Prayer,
the Sacraments
and a fervent attentiveness to the care
our
soul
requires.
Harry
hears the voice
of his father,
Norman
Osborn.
Finally, he catches a glimpse of him reflected in a mirror.
His father tells him, that he lives on within him—and urges him to
seek revenge:
The hideous, serpentine hiss
Harry hears, represents the very being who uttered that same hiss to
our
first parents,
Adam
and Eve: ...Satan. Indeed, the infernal serpent—peering into the
heart of the person harboring thoughts of vengeance,
as Harry
has often voiced—he enters into the person's heart, inciting the
individual to commit acts of wickedness.
Norman
Osborn tells
his son Harry,
that he
is weak—and will always remain weak—until he takes control. In a
fit of violent rage, Harry shatters the mirror... and discovers the
Green
Goblin’s
hideout: There is no fault in being aware of one’s own weakness;
yet it can become an evil... if we listen to our
eternal enemy—Satan
(Harry’s
father)—who
breathes his serpentine
falsehoods
into our pride.
We heed these serpentine incitements, only when our hearts (our
mirrors)
harbor intentions and resolutions that mirror his own. In short, all
those who refuse to embrace the great
truth—that
we are weak
and fragile—will
inevitably listen to the shadowy, serpentine counsel of the angel of
darkness (Harry’s
father).
Speaking
with Peter,
Mary
Jane declares
that she cannot
survive without him... for
it's not right to be only half-alive: Mary
Jane
proclaims a profound truth:
...our
soul
cannot
survive
if it remains severed from the Self—the
very Self that determines
the eternal
conditions,
where the soul
will endure: Heaven
or Hell.

che ci vogliamo bene.
Ma la realtà dei fatti, non sempre
collima con i nostri pensieri razionali. Proviamo a riflettere...
come possiamo volerci veramente
bene, se non
amiamo e
rispettiamo Colui
che ci ha creato? Non a caso, quando non seguiamo i Dieci
Comandamenti, è molto probabile che
talloniamo i vizi.
E non sono forse i vizi, che feriscono
la nostra anima (Mary
Jane)?
Otto
Octavius dichiara a Peter, che se tiene chiusa nel
cuore una cosa complessa come l'amore... si ammalerà.
Non a caso, Peter si trova in un periodo che gli va tutto male... sia
nella scuola che nel lavoro; addirittura dimentica che è il
suo compleanno: Se chiudiamo il nostro cuore ad una
forza così potente e positiva come l'amore...
è naturale che tutto va male. Ad esempio, gli eventi che si
susseguono nel corso della vita, ci parranno adombrati di
tristezza ed
angoscia. Non riusciremo più a dare un senso, alla realtà che
ci circonda. E come se non bastasse... proveremo nel nostro intimo,
una terribile sensazione di vuoto e di inutilità. Senza
contare, che serrando il cuore all'amore, si pongono dei limiti allo
Spirito Santo; il
quale vedendo un cuore chiuso... non potrà elargire i Suoi
Sette Doni di
benevolenza e serenità
(Santo timor di Dio,
Fortezza, Intelletto, Scienza, Sapienza, Pietà e
Buon Consiglio). E non è tutto... poiché sbarrando il cuore
all'amore, corriamo il rischio di dimenticarci di noi
stessi (Peter che si
dimentica che è il suo compleanno), e di quello che
siamo veramente: ...dei figli di Dio.
Le
riflessioni proferite da Octavius, sono vere... i doni
che possediamo, non ci sono stati elargiti per vantarci o esaltarci
con amici o parenti... ma vanno messi a servizio del prossimo.
Solo così, porteremo a termine la nostra missione... che
consiste nell'espandere l'amore
nel mondo. Ma ahimè... non tutti sanno rimanere saldi nel
momento della prova. Ed ecco, che talora i doni e talenti
che abbiamo, vengono utilizzati a servizio del nostro Ego
protervo. Proprio come accaduto tempo addietro, ad alcune schiere
angeliche... le quali pur essendo altamente intelligenti, si sono
ribellate a Dio.
Peter,
dopo che ha visto Mary
Jane baciare il suo boyfriend, comincia ad avere problemi
con i suoi poteri. Ad esempio... non riesce a far uscire la
ragnatela, e ha paura delle altezze: Quando un individuo crea
una scissione con il proprio versante spirituale (Mary
Jane), che cosa avviene? Il lungometraggio ce lo rivela... in altri
termini, nel preciso momento in cui Mary Jane si fidanza con
un ragazzo (figlio di J. J. Jameson) che in realtà non
ama veramente. In breve, nel momento in cui il nostro Ego sì
separa dalla propria spiritualità, seguendo le false luci del mondo
edonista... le intrinseche forze (superpoteri di
Spiderman) che si possiedono, non solo diminuiscono... ma ci
portano a compiere scelte sbagliate.
Mentre, Spiderman che ha paura delle altezze...
simboleggia proprio l'angoscia che alcune persone avvertono, nel
preciso momento che si avvicinano alle “altezze” dei
Sacramenti, della
Fede e della spiritualità.
Questo avviene, proprio perché il nostro Ego ormai
alienatosi dalla propria essenza spirituale (Mary Jane),
percepisce tutte queste meravigliose realtà spirituali, come
entità morte e prive di valore. In sostanza, sopraggiunge il timore
di compiere eventi che possono svilire la propria persona; mentre
come tutti sappiamo... è proprio vero il contrario. Invero, coloro
che si allontanano dalla propria identità spirituale,
divengono come “manichini”
in mano al male; non riuscendo più a discernere cosa sia
veritiero o cosa sia falso. Per questo motivo, diminuiscono anche le
virtù (i superpoteri di Spiderman), i quali ci
permettono di valicare i gelidi “palazzi” del razionalismo
(volteggi di Spiderman sui palazzi di New York).
Peter
non dice a Mary Jane, che è Spiderman... poiché i
suoi nemici, le possono fare del male: Anche in questo contesto
narrativo, possiamo rilevare come Spiderman è un'allegoria di
coloro che hanno paura e timore di esprimere i propri
sentimenti positivi, riguardo
alla Fede. D'altronde... in un mondo dove la forza bruta, la
violenza, la cupidigia, la lussuria e l'avarizia, vengono considerate
entità corrette, ecco che coloro che non sono coesi con la propria
anima in maniera risoluta e decisa, non possono che
precipitare di fronte alla terribile e mostruosa... paura.
Cosa fare quindi, per superare questo fastidioso ostacolo?
Semplice.... occorre mediante la Preghiera,
chiedere aiuto allo Spirito Santo... Colui
che è il datore della FORTEZZA.
Il
dottor Octavius sta compiendo degli esperimenti sull'energia a
fusione, con l'intento di concedere a tutte le persone, di avere
dell'energia a basso
costo: L'intento di condurre l'umanità a nuove scoperte scientifiche
e tecnologiche, porta la mente dell'uomo... a credersi un essere
superiore. In pratica, il dottor Octavius simboleggia
coloro che cercano di raggiungere Dio... attraverso imprese e
scoperte umane ragguardevoli ma prive di spiritualità.
Ad esempio... tutti coloro che tallonano senza alcun riguardo,
la scienza umana sprovvista di Divina Sapienza.
Questo evento... spiega come mai, alcuni scienziati invasati
dalle loro numerose scoperte scientifiche, si credono di essere
divenuti come mitologiche divinità Greche.
Codesta triste realtà, è una delle motivazioni che hanno
portato la nostra società odierna... nuovamente al paganesimo
.
Il
dottor Otto Octavius,
in una conferenza stampa... presenta i suoi quattro
attuatori o braccia meccaniche, che resistono al calore e al
magnetismo. Le braccia meccaniche sono controllate dal suo cervello,
mediante un collegamento neurale. Octavius ha un chip
inibitore, che protegge le sue funzioni cerebrali per mantenere
il controllo sulle braccia meccaniche... in maniera tale da
non permettere che le braccia meccaniche controllino lui: Se
siamo distanti e lontani dalle Sante leggi che Dio ci
ha affidato, è inutile pensare di avere un reale controllo
sulle proprie facoltà mentali. Difatti, per perseverare
nel bene e nelle virtù...
non basta possedere una “buona volontà”; ma
necessita anche l'umiltà di chiedere consiglio ed
aiuto al Signore.
Basta analizzare con discernimento, i politici ed autocrati di
tutti i tempi, per scoprire come in verità... quasi tutti agognavano
portare pacificazione e progresso ai popoli. Ma quanti di loro, ci
sono riusciti veramente? I libri di Storia li
conosciamo tutti. Il motivo di tutto questo, è semplice... tutti
questi plutocrati, seguono le verità rivelate nei Vangeli?
No. Privati della Fede... le leggi inique si sviluppano
nei cuori ottenebrati dal razionalismo ed edonismo. Ad esempio, si
cominciano a creare e formare leggi inique... come le
normative che approvano l'aborto,
l'eutanasia, la
lussuria, il possesso illecito di beni materiali e
l'idolatria per il
denaro.
La
tanto citata “giustizia”, spesso serve solo per salvaguardare le
molteplici proprietà degli avidi. E di fronte a questo
scenario rivoltante, che cosa speriamo di ottenere? Che Dio si
affianchi a noi, nel peccato? Scordiamocelo! Ecco, che il
Signore ci abbandona ai nostri vizi, saturi di edonismo
ed individualismo. Ed è proprio in questo desolante quadretto
di famiglia, che si innesta il dottor Octavius... il quale pur
se è convinto del contrario, non può minimamente avere un pieno ed
effettivo controllo su se stesso. Oltre al fatto, che
le sue braccia meccaniche,
evidenziano come Octavius sia portato ad agire in maniera
razionale e fredda... rimanendo sprovvisto di ciò che rende
un uomo una vera persona: l'amore
(moglie morta).
Quando
si sviluppa l'energia del Trizio, Octavius afferma che
ha il potere del sole... nella sua mano: Ecco a cosa
bramava veramente Octavius... il potere.
Ed infine, individuiamo la reale motivazione del
perché molti autocrati, politici e regnanti... non sanno utilizzare
la vera giustizia, pace e fratellanza. È chiaro che
gli autocrati, agognando con cupidigia la supremazia
sulle Nazioni... tutto il popolo lo visualizzano come fossero
ansanti pedine che si muovono su una scacchiera. Basta
riflettere un attimo... cosa significa per alcuni, agguantare il
potere? Sentirsi superiore agli altri. E
raggiunto questo scopo illusorio e spregevole, improvvisamente ogni
essenza che si desidera possedere, deve assolutamente trovare
corrispondenza nel prossimo; altrimenti lo si elimina o lo si
sbeffeggia. Gigantografie, scritte iperboliche, monumenti e
quant'altro... servono a far capire al popolo sprovveduto, che il
semidio di turno... è giunto ai confini del “sole”,
e per questo motivo... deve essere adorato e idolatrato dalle folle
vocianti. Quanto tutto questo, si discosta dalla nostra realtà
odierna?
La
reazione a fusione, diventa priva di controllo;
nonostante gli dicano di smettere... Octavius continua
imperturbabile. Octavius ribadisce che si stabilizzerà. Alla fine...
la moglie di Octavius rimane uccisa: Privati dell'anima
(moglie di Octavius), si comincia a diventare perfidi e
senza scrupoli. Esattamente come il dottor Octavius, il quale quando
rimane senza la propria moglie... diventa il perfido
e bieco “Dottor Octopus”.
Il
chip inibitore del
Dottor Octavius... si frantuma. Il Dottor Octavius,
comincia ad ascoltare la voce sibillina e tentatrice, delle
sue braccia meccaniche: Ed è palese annotare, che nel momento
in cui non si ascolta più la propria coscienza (moglie
morta di Octavius),
il nostro eterno nemico: Satana (tentacoli che sibilano come
piccole Serpi) comincia a sibilare le sue menzogne. Per
cui, non colpevolizziamo sempre il nostro eterno nemico, per ogni
peccato che commettiamo... poiché spesso e volentieri è la
nostra volontà corrotta e il nostro Ego egoista... che
subdolamente si accosta al tentatore. Il Dottor Octopus che
crea un piccolo sole, mediante il suo marchingegno... ci
illustra coloro che tristemente impiegano tutte le loro risorse e
conoscenze, per realizzare un falso Dio. E, basandosi
unicamente sulla propria intelligenza... negano in
maniera assolutista, qualunque altra realtà, che non sia concorde al
pensiero modernista. Questi grandi “sapientoni”, si inventano
mille scuse per avvalorare le loro false dottrine;
le quali minimizzano ed irridono le
verità Evangeliche. In questo modo, producono una potente teoria
(come quella evoluzionistica),
che è simile ad una massa filiforme e colma di energia
falsamente luminosa, che con il passare del tempo... li
renderà degli individui privi di anima... in breve: privi
di Dio. L'insegnamento che il lungometraggio ci suggerisce, è
quello di non farsi fagocitare dall'idolatria,
come è avvenuto al Dottor Octopus... ma di vincere le
tentazioni di pseudo-onnipotenza... mediante la Preghiera
ed i Sacramenti.
Spiderman
salva zia May. Da quel momento, zia May cambia idea su
Spiderman... iniziando ad aver rispetto per lui: Per salvare
la Fede e le virtù minacciate dall'edonismo e dalle
concupiscenze, occorre combattere contro il proprio versante
istintuale; il quale come
una enorme piovra tentacolare... tende a privarci della
verità. In breve,
necessita indossare l'abito dell'umiltà...
proprio come fa Spiderman quando indossa il suo costume di
battaglia. Non a caso, il simbolo del ragno... ci ricorda
che anche i piccoli e
gli umili (ragni), possiedono una forza più
ragguardevole di coloro che superbamente si credono più eminenti e
possenti degli altri. E quando ci sforziamo di sviluppare le virtù
(zia May), ce le faremo amiche... ed esse ci aiuteranno ad
avere maggiore fiducia in noi stessi; sostenendoci nello
sperare nella Misericordia del
Signore. Ed altresì, eliminando gli eventuali sensi di colpa,
che possono subentrare con l'intento di condurci alla disperazione.
Questo evento, la pellicola ce lo ricorda... nel preciso momento in
cui Peter, confessa alla zia May di essere stato in
parte colpevole, per
la morte dello zio Ben. Ed è proprio in quell'istante, che
zia May ...dopo un iniziale sbandamento, lo rincuora e lo aiuta
a non provare inutili sensi di colpa.
Harry
è furibondo per aver perduto fama, successo e denaro...
per colpa di Octavius. Oltre a ciò, Harry si lamenta con
Peter, poiché è più
fedele a Spiderman che a lui: Ecco palesato il perché Harry
con il passare del tempo, diventa perfido... il motivo lo
ritroviamo nel suo ostinato e avido pensiero di
raggiungere fama, denaro e successo a qualunque costo. E
quando qualcuno cerca di impedirgli di conquistare questo traguardo
secolare e fallace... che cosa avviene? Semplice... la rabbia
di Harry si amplia, e con essa l'odio.
Due sorelle gemelle, che congiuntamente formano un potente veleno,
che nutre il cuore di Harry di insani pensieri di distruzione
e vendetta. Possiamo altresì appuntare, come Harry si
lamenta con Peter di essere un confidente di Spiderman...
il quale è un chiaro simbolo di verità, umiltà ed
onestà. Ed è naturale che coloro (Harry) che adorano
sottomettersi ai piaceri mondani,
detestano e riprovano sagacemente... tutti coloro (Spiderman)
che non seguono le loro direttive inique.
Mary
Jane si lamenta con Peter, ribadendogli che mentre altre
persone l'hanno vista recitare a teatro... lui no. Dopo tutti
questi anni... Peter è solo un posto vuoto: Mary
Jane che si lamenta con Peter,
raffigura l'anima di coloro che hanno momentaneamente
scelto di vivere la propria vita con mediocrità;
relegando la propria anima (Mary Jane) nelle profondità
dell'inconscio. E, senza darle le attenzioni e cure che si merita.
Oltre al fatto, che quando lasciamo la nostra anima a deperire,
provochiamo una scissione interna, che genera inevitabilmente
uno scompenso interiore... permettendo all'anima di congiungersi ad
un versante fittizio (figlio di J. J. Jameson) del nostro
essere. In definitiva, non aiutando la propria spiritualità...
l'individuo crea un altro Io, il quale pur convivendo con
l'anima, non vive una immagine di Sé autentica, ma
interamente falsata.
In
fin dei conti, se non si pone riguardo verso la propria
spiritualità... l'anima verrà anestetizzata da tutto
ciò che è sinonimo di benevolenza ed altruismo.
Per di più, l'anima tenderà a incatenarsi a coloro che
seguono il materialismo ed i godimenti prettamente terreni.
Concludendo, se permettiamo al vizio e al peccato, di
entrare nel nostro cuore... rischiamo di creare e formare un
vuoto spirituale ( Mary Jane che dice a Peter, che è
un “posto vuoto”).
In questo modo, possiamo tristemente riempire questo “posto
vuoto”, mediante la ricerca di piaceri carnali... con la
speranza illusoria di colmare una carenza spirituale.
Peter
oltre a non riuscire più a salire sui muri, comincia a vederci
poco. Per questo motivo,
si rimette gli occhiali: Se abbandoniamo la nostra anima nelle
mani del vizio, è
naturale che non riusciamo più a salire il “muro” della
Fede e della Speranza.
Oltre al fatto, che diveniamo miopi... non riuscendo
più a percepire le realtà celesti, poiché le abbiamo
ripudiate.
Peter
parlando col suo medico, dichiara che non sa cosa pensare di
se stesso. Il dottore gli risponde... deve farti impazzire, il
non sapere chi sei... poiché la tua anima
scompare: Quando non si seguono con amore e verità
le norme Evangeliche e i Dieci Comandamenti,
smarriamo noi stessi. Le persone che pensano di non possedere
un'anima, non la
nutrono con la Preghiera e i Sacramenti... ed è
logico, che l'anima deperisce.
Peter
parlando con lo zio Ben,
gli racconta che è innamorato di
Mary Jane. Dopodiché,
Peter afferma che non riesce a vivere i propri
sogni; per questo motivo... decide di non essere più
Spiderman: Peter che conversa e si confida con lo zio
Ben, effigia il nostro
Io, che dialoga con Dio
Padre. Al contempo, Peter che
non vuole più essere Spiderman,
simboleggia la persona che decide di non seguire
Dio. A questo punto,
sorge spontanea una domanda... che cosa avviene se perdiamo di
vista il tortuoso ma veritiero percorso, della rettitudine?
Cosa accade, se abbandoniamo la lotta e la fatica nel rimanere
saldi nelle virtù... poiché non collimano con
i nostri sogni gaudenti? Insomma, anche se
all'apparenza ci sembra di guadagnare qualcosa... in realtà si perde
la speranza, la Fede
e la fulgente gioia nel cuore. Ed è a questo punto,
che abbandoniamo la corazza che ci dona lo Spirito Santo
(costume di battaglia di Spiderman), nella
sporca “pattumiera” delle concupiscenze. In poche parole, se
abbandoniamo ipocritamente la buona battaglia spirituale...
rischiamo di inabissarci
miseramente, nel crogiolo dei vizi multiformi.
Peter
non va più ad aiutare il prossimo che si trova in pericolo; e
pensa solo a se stesso. Peter comincia ad andare bene a
scuola: Ecco cosa avviene quando si abbandona la via
spirituale, per seguire
il più giocondo e festaiolo tragitto dell'illecito:
...viene a mancare la virtù regina: la carità
e l'Amore. Questo
ci fa comprendere, come le persone che sono avare, egoiste,
superbe, invidiose
e quant'altro... hanno escluso dalla propria esistenza... Dio
Padre (zio Ben); per seguire tacitamente le perfide
insinuazioni della corruzione e della dissolutezza.
Ed è logico supporre, che quando si pensa solo ed unicamente
a se stessi... le realtà mondane vanno bene (Peter che
quando ha abbandonato il fatto di essere Spiderman...
improvvisamente va bene a scuola).
Peter
va a teatro a vedere Mary Jane,
che recita come
attrice. Infine, gli ribadisce che ora è una persona
diversa... non è più un “posto vuoto”: A Peter,
adesso piace adocchiare la sua anima (Mary Jane)
mascherata, non più reale e veritiera; poiché ha deciso di
nascondere le sue reali emozioni e sentimenti. E, la sua
stessa anima... adesso diviene una sorta di antica damigella
da ammirare in una scena teatrale.
Ma quanto di tutto questo serve... per divenire realmente
se stessi, per raggiungere le altezze della spiritualità,
per essere autentici, coesi e genuini?
Peter
parlando con la zia May,
asserisce di essere il
responsabile della morte dello zio Ben. In seguito,
dichiara che non ha fermato il ladro che ha ucciso lo zio
Ben, perché voleva vendicarsi del tizio che non lo ha
pagato: Ecco a cosa porta lo spirito di vendetta... a
commettere o permettere altri abusi ed ingiustizie. Dobbiamo infatti
rammentare, che la rivalsa esprime un sentimento di rabbia,
odio e rancore... tutti impulsi che non solo ledono il prossimo, ma
come un boomerang ...ci tornarono indietro, quando quando meno
ce l'aspettiamo. Poiché esiste una regola universale: ...ciò che
facciamo agli altri ...ci ritorna.
Il
crimine nella città di New York, senza Spiderman...
aumenta del 70%: Se rinunciamo a lottare per i giusti ideali
di pace, solidarietà ed amore... è naturale
che il male e l'ingiustizia dilagano. Basta osservare coloro che nel
corso del tempo, si sono prodigati per far risaltare leggi eque e
oneste. E proviamo a pensare cosa sarebbe avvenuto, se questi
personaggi portatori di pace e verità, non avessero
donato le loro luci sapienziali al mondo. Proprio
così... adesso ci ritroveremmo nella più completa oscurità.
In fin dei conti, il messaggio del lungometraggio è cristallino e
semplice... ognuno di noi deve portare avanti la propria missione;
che consiste nell'espandere nel mondo... l'Amore.
Peter
soccorre una bambina, che è rimasta all'interno di un
edificio devastato dalle fiamme. Mentre Peter
sta per precipitare... la bimba lo aiuta. Alla fine, Peter
salva la bambina: Da quanto appena espresso, possiamo asserire che
Peter simboleggia l'Io di una persona, che si trova di
fronte a un dilemma... seguire il “fuoco” dell'amore
e salvare la propria anima (bimba), oppure fuggire via?
Per fortuna, Peter sceglie la prima possibilità, e così facendo...
entra nel suo cuore, il
fuoco d'amore dello Spirito Santo. Questo evento, lo
ravvisiamo nel preciso momento in cui Peter trova la bambina
rinchiusa in un armadio;
simbolo evidente di un cuore chiuso (armadio)
all'amore (fuoco).
Al
contempo, la bambina che prende per mano Spiderman,
salvandolo da una cruenta caduta... ci ricorda che se
cerchiamo con tutte le nostre forze, di strappare dal pericolo la
nostra anima ...in realtà non salveremo che noi stessi. Da
cosa? Da un altro fuoco... quello che si trova all'inferno.
Zia
May dichiara a Peter, che ha avuto coraggio a
parlargli di quello che è avvenuto con lo zio Ben;
ed aggiunge... che è orgogliosa di lui: Perché, molte
persone non si Confessano? Semplice, non hanno il coraggio di
esprimere i propri peccati,
debolezze ed errori, ad altre persone. Dimenticando
malauguratamente, che dietro una veste talare... si cela Dio
Padre; il quale per
mezzo dei meriti infiniti del Preziosissimo Sangue
di Gesù, ci dona il Suo perdono. Tuttavia, è
vero... a volte è umiliante ammettere ad altri che si ha peccato.
Cionondimeno... che gioia e liberazione si provano
interiormente, dopo che ci si è confessati. Il lungometraggio
ci rammenta, che oltre a ricevere i Sacramenti, è necessario
essere coerenti con quello che si professa con le parole. Il
mondo odierno, ha bisogno di testimoni coraggiosi;
proprio come fa Spiderman quando nonostante nessuno
creda in lui (ad esempio J. J. Jameson), egli non si perde d'animo...
e continua il suo combattimento contro le forze del
male (vizi e concupiscenze).
Zia
May dichiara che c'è un
eroe in tutti noi... un eroe che ci mantiene onesti,
che ci dà forza, che ci rende nobili... anche se a
volte, bisogna rinunciare alle cose che desideriamo
di più. Addirittura... a volte occorre rinunciare ai nostri
sogni: C'è un eroe in tutti noi... e come possiamo
dimenticare, che nel nostro cuore... tutti possediamo le
eroiche leggi dei Dieci Comandamenti? Ma cosa
necessita fare, per divenire eroi della spiritualità? L'esempio ce
lo fornisce Zia May... abbandonare i sogni fallaci che
ci conducono alle passioni malsane; e seguire con eroismo...
le moralità che ci sono consigliate dai Dieci Comandamenti
di amore, che Dio
ha impresso nel nostro cuore.
Solamente
quando il Dottor Octopus ha sequestrato Mary Jane...
Peter torna a vedere bene,
e altresì gli ricompaiono i superpoteri di
Spiderman: Quando veniamo afferrati dalla “piovra” del
peccato, necessita
recuperare le proprie forze (superpoteri di Spiderman),
accostandosi alla Preghiera
ed ai Sacramenti come la Confessione e
l'Eucaristia.
Il tutto, per cercare di sconfiggere i “tentacoli”
del male, che cercano di afferrare la nostra anima (Mary
Jane), per poi distruggerla.
A
causa del Dottor Octopus... Spiderman rimane su un
treno a tutta velocità... privo di freni. Spiderman si toglie
la maschera, per cercare
di arrestare il treno colmo di persone: A volte,
mediante la sfrenata ricerca di piaceri illeciti e viziosi,
corriamo come se fossimo su un “treno” che non ha limiti,
freni, leggi e regole.
In questo modo, rischiamo di annichilire e distruggere la nostra
anima. Occorre togliere la “maschera” che la
società dissoluta e razionalista ci ha imposto... ed in questo modo,
riusciremo a salvare noi stessi e gli altri (persone
all'interno del treno).
Spiderman
viene aiutato e sostenuto, dalle persone che si trovano sul
treno: Anche gli eroi della Fede,
hanno bisogno dell'aiuto del prossimo. E come si possono
sorreggere e soccorrere, coloro che hanno il compito gravoso di
promulgare le verità Evangeliche? Semplice... mediante la
Preghiera; evento
descritto nel lungometraggio con estrema lucidità, nel momento
stesso in cui le persone sostengono ed aiutano
Spiderman esausto. Crediamo davvero che i santi, martiri,
profeti e le anime
vittime, non
hanno bisogno delle nostre preghiere e
sacrifici? Rammentiamoci, che siamo tutti parte di un
meraviglioso Corpo Mistico... e che una preghiera o un
atto di carità compiuti da una singola persona, si
ripercuotono su tutte le membra del
Corpo Mistico.
Harry
colmo di rabbia, dichiara a Spiderman... “se solo
potessi farti il male, che tu hai fatto a me”: Quanto appena
esposto, ci fa intuire il motivo del perché nel corso del tempo,
Harry prenda le fattezze di Goblin. Invero,
quando si segue l'odio, il male e la vendetta,
si diventa come il folletto maligno per eccellenza: Satana (Goblin).
Peter
dice ad Octavius, che quelle braccia meccaniche lo hanno
trasformato in quello che non è. Inoltre, gli
suggerisce di non ascoltarle: Precisamente... quando
accogliamo le tentazioni suggerite dal maligno, diveniamo
persone diverse... e smarriamo la Grazia Santificante che ci
unisce a Dio; e nel
contempo cominciamo ad assomigliare al nostro eterno nemico (Harry
che diventa Goblin). Il
suggerimento di Peter,
consiste nel non ascoltare le tentacolari lusinghe del
Vizio, quando
sopraggiungono alla soglia del nostro cuore... ma di rigettarle
lontano da noi, mediante l'assistenza di Gesù. In caso
contrario, il vizio si impossesserà della nostra mente, e rischiamo
di trasformarci come il Dottor Octopus... il quale è
diventato schiavo della sua superbia.
Octavius,
afferma che era il suo sogno. Peter risponde... che a
volte per fare la cosa giusta...
necessita essere fermi, e rinunciare a ciò che più si
desidera. Alla fine, Octavius con la sua volontà...
obbliga le braccia meccaniche ad ascoltarlo: Come
abbiamo appena visto, per rimanere fermi e costanti nei
propositi di voler seguire la strada del Bene e della
Giustizia, occorre una forte dose di Buona Volontà.
Certamente, necessita anche la Preghiera, con la quale
chiediamo soccorso a Gesù e Maria Santissima nel
sostenerci nella prova. Ma dobbiamo rammentare, che la sola
preghiera, priva di buona volontà... diviene solo un
palliativo.
Alla
fine, l'enorme macchinario insieme ad Octavius,
precipitano nel fiume sottostante: Ecco la fine esemplare che
prima o poi, faranno tutti gli idoli che l'essere umano
innalza ed eleva... ponendoli
come superbi trofei, dinanzi a Dio. Per idoli si intendono
anche i pensieri di egemonia, l'avarizia, il sesso fuori dal
matrimonio, la scienza prettamente umana e così via. Per cui,
riguardo a coloro che imperterriti vogliono rimanere nel peccato...
c'è poco da ridacchiare, la rovina bussa alla porta. Quale porta?
Quella dell'eternità.
Mary
Jane scopre che Peter è Spiderman, poiché si è tolto
la maschera. Peter finalmente, confida a Mary Jane... che è
innamorato di lei: La società che ci circonda, tallona
le mode del momento... come fossero idoli da adorare e
venerare. In altri termini, le mode colme di razionalismo,
edonismo e modernismo, hanno come effetto deleterio... quello
di imporci un modo di comportarci, che... come una maschera
maligna, si appiccica al nostro comune modo di pensare. Una terribile
e mostruosa maschera, che ci impedisce di amare la nostra
anima. Tutto questo,
accade allorquando rimaniamo intrappolati nella ragnatela di
menzogne che la società consumistica ci impone. In questo modo, non
diamo ascolto alle esigenze interiori e spirituali,
che necessita accogliere, per poter far sopravvivere la propria
anima. In sostanza, rimanere ancorati ai piaceri terreni...
toglie tempo e spazio alla preghiera, ai Sacramenti, e
ad un fervido ascolto verso le cure che la nostra anima ci
chiede.
Harry
avverte la voce, di suo padre Norman Osborn.
Infine, lo intravede riflesso su uno specchio.
Il padre gli dice, che egli è vivo in lui... ed
inoltre, lo esorta a vendicarsi: Il sibilo atroce e serpentino
che Harry ascolta, è la raffigurazione di colui che ha
compiuto lo stesso sibilo con i nostri progenitori Adamo ed Eva:
Satana. Difatti, la serpe infernale scrutando il cuore della persona
che si trova a compiere pensieri di vendetta, come spesso
Harry ha annunciato... entra nel cuore della persona,
esortandola a compiere opere di iniquità.
Norman
Osborn dichiara a suo figlio Harry, che è un debole;
e che sarà sempre debole... finché non avrà il controllo.
Harry con violenza e rabbia, rompe lo specchio... e scopre il
nascondiglio di Goblin: Non è una colpa, essere consapevoli
della propria debolezza. Ma può divenire un male, se
ascoltiamo il nostro eterno nemico: Satana (padre di Harry),
il quale soffia sul nostro orgoglio... le sue serpentine falsità.
Incitamenti serpentini, che ascolteremo solo nel caso che nel nostro
cuore (specchio), possediamo intenzioni e proponimenti
che riflettono i suoi. In altri termini, tutti coloro che non
desiderano accogliere una grande verità... e cioè che siamo deboli
e fragili, inevitabilmente ascolteranno i consigli serpentini
e ombrosi, dell'angelo delle tenebre (padre di Harry).
Mary
Jane parlando con Peter,
afferma che non può sopravvivere senza di lui; perché
non è giusto... essere vivi solo a metà: Mary Jane proclama
una grande verità... la nostra anima (Mary Jane)
non può sopravvivere se rimane scissa dal proprio Io.
Il quale, deciderà le
condizioni eterne dove l'anima sosterrà: ...il Paradiso o
l'inferno.
