The Golden Compass.
Spiritual Version.
In this alternate world, the souls of the population live alongside
them... in the form of spirit animals
called Daemons. Animal Daemons, suffer just as much as their owners.
Furthermore, children's Daemons can change
form, as they have not stabilized; while adult Daemons do not: One of the main themes of the story "The Golden Compass" refers to
people's souls and their
transformation under certain circumstances. We can thus affirm that the Daemons, who suffer like their owners…
remind us that our soul grieves and
suffers whenever we sin or disobey the Ten
Commandments (which are: I am the
Lord your God, you shall have no
other gods before Me - You shall not
take the name of God in vain -
Remember to keep holy the Lord’s day- Honor your father and mother - You shall
not kill - You shall not commit impure acts - You shall not steal - You shall
not bear false witness - You shall not covet your neighbor's wife - You shall
not covet your neighbor's property). The reason? Simple, the soul suffers precisely because, being
closely connected to God, it cannot bear the thought that
the ego offends Jesus every time we sin or indulge in vice. Let us not forget, that even if our rational side is not even
remotely aware of it, our soul (Daemon) perceives and listens with
extreme attention to the promptings
that come from the Holy Spirit.
Thus, when a vainglorious ego,
thirsty for worldly pleasures, commits sins...
the soul immediately perceives the dissonance between the desires of the
ego and those of God; and suffers as a result. This discord between the rational side, which distances itself from the spiritual side, creates an inner void; which causes an internal feeling of unease, anxiety and
deprivation. Negative essences, which push the ego to seek a substitute and a surrogate for God. Consequently, the person begins to
search—in sex, drugs, idolatry or
worldly pleasures—for whatever can fill
this spiritual void.
At the same time, the Daemon that changes form only in boys and girls, symbolizes the vivacity,
dynamism and benevolence possessed by humble
people who follow the teachings of the Gospel.
As Jesus declared in the Gospels, the true Christian knows how
to be prudent as the serpent and simple as the doves. In other words, humble individuals (children and toddlers) who follow the Ten Commandments, the Sacraments
and the virtues with truth and
righteousness, are able to be resilient (a Daemon that changes shape) in the
face of life's storms; and they are also able to discern with greater truthfulness, what happens to them. Ultimately,
the Daemon animals of children and toddlers that change and
evolve, represent the true believer,
who knows how to be as cunning as a serpent to avoid vices and the snares of
Satan and his slaves... but who also knows how to become a dove of peace and love for those in need and those
suffering. All of this, of course, must be "seasoned" with a
substantial dose of humility.
On the contrary, adults who no
longer know how to change their Daemon, are an emblem of those who
believe themselves to be "greater"
and better than others: the proud and vainglorious. And precisely
for this reason, the presumptuous have a closed, narrow and limited mindset; their thinking
consists in feeling superior to others, in dominating them and they are
incapable of being charitable, much
less empathetic, towards those who suffer. Likewise, the vainglorious and the
arrogant, remain undaunted in their judgments and thoughts devoid of truth and Love. In short, the proud
(the adults in the story), lack mental flexibility and refuse to acknowledge their potential for
error. Thus, their souls (Daemons) are unable to adapt to the
needs of the moment, just like their hardened hearts... which remain rooted in
sin and disobedience to the Ten
Commandments.
The worlds are connected by the
Light called… Dust. The Academics
invented an Alethiometer, a Golden Compass… that shows and reveals all that is hidden. But the
reigning power, held by the Magisterium,
fearing any truth beyond their own…
sought to destroy these instruments, also forbidding any mention of Dust: The worlds that are connected by
the Light called Dust, embody people who are all connected by God. Indeed, the Lord is
Omnipresent everywhere, both on
Earth and beyond. From what has just been stated, we can understand how all
human beings are under the loving gaze of God… and therefore we are all immersed
in the marvelous gifts of the Holy Spirit (Light called Dust).
The Seven Gifts of the Holy
Spirit are: Fear of God - Fortitude - Understanding - Science
- Wisdom - Piety - Good Counsel.
The Academics are an allegory of the priestly souls, who are the dispensers of the gifts coming from the
Holy Trinity. In this context, the
instrument called the Alethiometer
or Golden Compass, symbolizes the
marvelous gift of Wisdom that comes
from the Holy Spirit. Isn't it the
gift of Wisdom, that helps us understand hidden truths? Just as the Golden
Compass, works with the protagonist of the story. Ultimately, the Holy Spirit, like a wonderful compass, shows us the path to follow
and the dangers to avoid. But of course, to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, one must be humble... just like Lyra, the little
girl in the story; and also, one must pray,
be virtuous and receive the Sacraments.
The power holders, the
Magisterium, who have sought to destroy
all the Golden Compasses of their
world, symbolize corrupt political
power, plutocrats, rationalists,
amoral people who rebel against the Ten
Commandments and the proud of all times... who seek in every way, to
destroy the truths (Golden Compass) revealed by God and his prophets (Lyra); and
also seek to annihilate every truth that comes from the Holy Spirit (Light called Dust). Isn't this, the reality we live
daily? It's enough to observe Christian
holidays, which are confined or replaced by pagan holidays. Crucifixes are removed from schools and
hospitals. Religion is relegated to
a private matter. Saints and Prophets are slandered and mocked (as
happened to Padre Pio and Maria Valtorta). The Marian apparitions are opposed and
those who hold the marvelous concepts and truths of the Virgin Mary, are considered deceivers. Religious education, has
been abolished in schools. Prayer is
no longer practiced in families. And the list goes on and on... In short, just
as the story describes in detail, those who hold temporal power—the proud,
the greedy, the lustful, the angry, the Freemasons,
the envious and the servants of Satan—try to banish the "Light called Dust" of the Holy
Spirit; so they can act undisturbed in carrying out iniquitous and
blasphemous deeds. In this way, they believe they are destroying the thought of
God in the minds and hearts of all
humanity.
Fortunately, a Golden Compass remains; and only one
person is able to read it… precisely an orphaned little girl named Lyra.
In fact, the college master gives Lyra the Golden
Compass. The Golden Compass always
tells the truth. The people of the Magisterium
regulate things, telling people what to do, while Mrs. Coulter likes to do
what she wants: The college master, who gives little Lyra the Golden Compass, is a figurative image
of God… who gives to the humble (Lyra), the gifts that come from the Holy Spirit. Isn't it, in fact, the Holy Spirit who bestows his Seven
Gifts on those who follow Him in
truth and love? If we think about it, everything we know about God, has been received through His instruments: the Prophets, Saints, martyrs, victimized souls, holy Priests, simple and humble Christians... in addition to the
loving souls of God. All are
portrayed in the story, by the small and humble
Lyra. In short, only those who are
small, humble and loving toward God and their neighbors, can be the custodians of the knowledge and truth bestowed by the Lord. Just as only small and humble Lyra, can read the Golden Compass.
The Magisterium and Mrs. Coulter,
precisely because of their similarities in wanting to do what they want and
desire to command... symbolize political power and arrogant people. These groups cannot read and understand the Golden Compass; precisely because they
behave in opposition to the moral
laws filled with love and truth, bestowed by the Holy Spirit. This explains one of the
reasons why many peoples wage war against each other; in essence, these
plutocrats, lacking the "compass"
of Faith and LOVE... seek and covet human power and temporal goods; which for
them have become... deities; placed
in place of the true God. And yet...
this makes it clear to our minds why many young people are disoriented, fearful
and devoid of morality; having parents (Mrs.
Coulter) lacking Faith,
humility, true love and empathy, it’s logical that they are
unable to instill in others… the right
path to follow, to become honest
and balanced people. In fact, only
with the "Compass" of Faith… can one follow the right path of truth and LOVE.
Lyra's
friend, Roger, is mocked by his peers. The boy is chased
by gyptian children; one of them is
named Billy. Lyra saves Roger and
tells Billy that he will steal a toga
to redeem his friend. Roger and Billy, represent the two sides that each of us possesses. Roger is the spiritual side, striving toward God, justice, fairness and Love. Meanwhile, Billy is the instinctual
side, seeking worldly pleasures and following his own passions and lusts.
In this narrative context, Lyra
illustrates an ego that must decide which side to take; and that
must try to reconcile and mediate between these two conflicting forces.
The toga that Lyra uses to
redeem Roger, is an emblem of the
"spiritual garment" that
must be worn to be part of the celestial banquet: Paradise. And naturally, to achieve this shining goal, we must
persevere in goodness and justice throughout our earthly life. In
other words, the story suggests that to reach the heavenly homeland, it's not enough to achieve a few victories, but
we must remain steadfast in Faith and virtue until the end of our earthly days. Only then, will we have
the rightful garment (toga) to live
in heavenly beatitudes. In other words... it's true that all of us human beings
are saved by the sacrifice Jesus made for us all on Golgotha,
but it's equally true... that we must follow the virtues and the Ten
Commandments, if we want to save our
souls. Why emphasize this concept? Because unfortunately, we sometimes hear
that we are saved regardless... and therefore we can continue to sin at will.
But this is not true. Let us
remember, that one of the sins against the Holy Spirit tells us, that thinking of
salvation without merit... is a great sin against truth and love.
When Lyra senses other people approaching, she hides in a closet. Lyra is then able to spot one
of the Magisterium, who is trying to
poison her uncle, Lord Asriel. But
Lyra saves her uncle: How can we save a person (Lord Asriel) from the "poison"
of heresy, modernism and rationalism?
We can save ourselves from rationalism and hedonism, if we hide humility and Faith in our heart (closet); both are embodied in the
story, by little Lyra and her pet Daemon. Just as the Saints, true believers, authentic
Priests and prophets of all time have done... to safeguard Faith, hope, charity and the other virtues... we need a humble, patient and trusting heart in God and His evangelical promises. All of this, must be supported by Prayer and the Sacraments… otherwise we risk “drinking” from the chalice of vices…
the infernal poison of rationalism,
hedonism and nihilism.
Lord
Asriel, Lyra's uncle… explains to the Magisterium,
that a strange Light descends from
the sky, and confirms that it’s Dust.
The Dust flows into the person
through their Daemon; then Lord
Asriel declares that Dust comes from
other, unknown worlds. Lord Asriel is declared a heretic by one of the
Magisterium: The Dust, which is
described as a Light descending from
the sky, is a metaphor for the Love
of God, who descends from Heaven to flood all mankind with His tender embrace. And
how does Jesus communicate with
people? Through His soul, illustrated in the story by Daemons.
While Lord Asriel, who is declared a heretic by one of the Magisterium,
embodies the true believer who is criticized, slandered and mocked, by
those who arrogantly follow their passions,
power, vices and pleasure-seeking.
It's interesting to add, that
the different animal forms that Daemons
possess… symbolize the diversity of how a person welcomes the multiple lights of wisdom (Light called Dust) that come from God. In this instance, little Lyra, who has a friendly, humble and truthful Daemon, is an emblem of a person's humble soul, capable of grasping the promptings of the Lord (Light called Dust).
Unlike Mrs. Coulter, who, having a rebellious, aggressive and proud soul (Daemon in the form
of a golden monkey), is unable to grab the promptings, inspirations and
benevolences, that come from the Holy Spirit.
We cannot conclude this
fascinating discussion, without
considering that the marvelous Light
that descends from Heaven, called Dust… also symbolizes the Grace that God gives to all who desire it. However, the graces that God gives to
all humanity, must be freely accepted by the person;
Otherwise, if the Graces that the Lord bestows upon us are rejected, the
individual remains deprived of God's
gifts. This is how it’s possible for the human being, to become a ferocious beast with himself, with others and with God. This circumstance of fundamental
importance, is described to us by the Daemon
that people possess. Consequently, as described previously... Lyra, who has a fair, friendly,
sensitive, altruistic and generous Daemon, embodies the person
who welcomes God's Graces and makes them bear fruit. For example, when Lyra
wishes to help her two little friends; an event that shows us how the soul-Daemon of a humble
and loving individual, knows how to welcome into her heart the suggestions and Graces
of love, wisdom, charity and
forgiveness that come from God (Light called Dust). Conversely, if a person possesses a Daemon-soul corrupted by
pride, envy, selfishness and greed...
the soul becomes resistant to the Dust-Grace that comes from God. This is described in the story, by Mrs. Coulter's Daemon-monkey.
Indeed, as we will recall, the Daemon-monkey, at the mere mention of Dust, becomes aggressive and furious; just like people (Mrs. Coulter) who hate God,
refuse to hear of Love, truth,
justice, empathy, peace and
altruism.
Lord
Asriel wishes to discover these unknown worlds, and to accomplish this
journey... he requests funding from the Concilium.
Lord Asriel states that the Concilium has challenged the Magisterium, precisely because it speaks of the Light called Dust: Lord Asriel, who asks the Concilium for help to discover the
unknown worlds, is the true believer
who, to complete the long journey of Faith
and virtue, asks for the
collaboration of the Church (Concilium). It is no coincidence, that we must remember that to develop
one's Faith, humility, hope, justice, prudence and Love for God and neighbor, one needs God's help. How? Through prayer, the Sacraments and the teachings of the Gospel. On the contrary, if we desire to go it alone... after a while, we will feel overwhelmed by spiritual
apathy and laziness; and we will fall back into vice and debauchery. Let us not forget,
that because of original sin, human
beings no longer possess the
physical, psychological and above all spiritual
integrity… that our ancestors Adam and Eve had.
To conclude, the Magisterium that opposes the teachings
of the Council, illustrates all
those who, disciples of power and the threefold concupiscence... seek in every
way to hinder those who follow Jesus and His teachings with love and truth.
The Gobblers are people who steal
children, especially poor children,
orphans and child slaves: The Gobblers
are an emblem of Satan's slaves,
rebels against the laws of Love
instituted by God in the hearts of
all humanity. The task of these individuals,
is to increase rationalism and heresies in the world, to cover up the
truths revealed by God with multiple
lies, to frighten believers, to persecute
those who possess the gift of Faith,
to inflame the humble, to fill
people's minds with relativism, modernism and hedonism. Essentially, these wicked
people seek to corrupt the poor with money (the poor children in the story); they also seek to mislead those with weak faith or who have mental problems
(the orphan children in the story),
filling them with erroneous and false
notions; and finally... they seek to increasingly distance from Faith and truth, all those (servant
children) who pursue temporal goods
or their own ego. Simply put, these individuals… slaves of Satan, seek to "steal"
people's souls, just as the Gobblers seek to detach the Daemon from
their kidnapped children.
Mrs.
Coulter tells Lyra, that the Bear King, Ragnar, wants a Dæmon of his own… since he doesn’t have one. And
the Bear King, wants to think of
himself as a person. Mrs. Coulter wants Lyra as her assistant, so they can go
north. The Bear King, Ragnar,
represents a person who, despite living in sin and vice, deeply understands
that something is wrong with him. He
feels the pangs of conscience, which
tells him that by living in sin and
disobeying the Ten Commandments, he
risks losing his soul (Dæmon)
forever. This event, depicted in the story, urges us to ever better understand
what the Holy Spirit accomplishes in the hearts
of all of us human beings: rediscovering our own spirituality and God's smile.
Indeed, the Lord, just like a Good Shepherd, searches for the lost sheep, that is, the hardened
sinner... to bring him back into the fold of Love. God doesn't behave
like the rest of us, who, as soon as we see someone disagrees with us, abandon
or denigrate them. Jesus tries in
every way to encourage us to return
to Him, through suggestions (Light called Dust) to our soul (Daemon) and our conscience.
Besides everything else, the
Bear King, Ragnar, is the individual
who aspires to become a believer; however, not
for the love of God and neighbor... but only to increase his own self-love and vanity.
We can understand this from his actions, which are devoid of love and mercy;
such as when he killed the previous
King... by poisoning him. This event, reminds us of Jesus'
crucifiers... who knelt before Him,
but not before mocking Him and
placing a crown of thorns on His head. In essence... unfortunately,
there are FALSE Christians and FALSE priests, who, even if they appear to praise, love and follow the
teachings of the Gospel... deep
down, hate and mock Him. All of this,
through acts of vainglory, selfishness and lack of Love for one's
neighbor.
The Magisterium plots secretly, claiming that the Concilium has financed Lord
Asriel and that if he proves other worlds exist, centuries of teachings
will be contradicted and
freethinkers will always exist. They then claim, that the doctors at Bolvangar are on the verge of
perfecting the Intercision against
the effects of the Dust. The Magisterium wants to protect their
children from the Dust's influence,
before their Daemons become established. Thus, they raise a
generation that doesn’t question
their authority: The Magisterium is a clear emblem of rationalists, modernists and plutocrats,
who seek in every way to silence the truths of the Gospel; precisely because they fear being contradicted by the
righteousness that flows from the word of God
(Light called Dust). If we reflect on it, those who pursue evil, hatred, lust
and power... know well that only through lies, secrecy and therefore the ignorance of the people, they can
continue to carry out their sinister
plots, intrigues and desires. This is why multiple totalitarian regimes (Magisterium)
over the centuries, have persecuted the Church, Christians and religious figures (Concilium).
The process of Intercision that separates children from their Daemons, symbolizes the way in which
these servants of vice and
rationalism, wish to eliminate Faith
in peoples and Nations. Ultimately, those who hold political power in a haughty
and selfish manner, in order to
ensure that their nations lose the Faith... seek to "educate" people from a young age
through FALSE notions and theories,
that support and validate rationalistic
conceptions filled in relativism.
In "science" textbooks, we casually read that human beings are not God's creations, but rather evolved through a long and tortuous
series of processes. Ultimately, human science, devoid of divine truth…
teaches our children, that we all descend from apes. Schoolbooks also teach us about the tyrants of all time, their conquests, their treasures, their
impressive works of art. Yet… not enough emphasis is placed on how and in what way, these heroes of nothingness were able to accomplish
their "mighty" feats. Do we desire the truth? Here it is! The
"mighty" of the Earth accomplished their mighty "conquests"
through the murder of thousands of innocents, through abuse, lies, persecution and so
on. At the same time, no attention is paid to the countless edifying works
accomplished by Christians and holy priests, such as the construction
of schools for all... and not just
for the rich. Indeed, the development of wisdom,
knowledge, art, true philosophy, pedagogy and more... has been carried forward with humility and love, by true followers of Christ. Think, for example, of the great philosopher St. Augustine, St. John Bosco, St. Thomas
Aquinas and so many others. Without bloodshed, but armed with charity... these "soldiers" of LOVE have given humanity unsurpassed treasures of wisdom and Faith.
Conversely, the servants of rationalism and hedonism, as the story suggests...
seek in every way to separate (remove the Daemon from children) the beneficial influences of the Holy Spirit (Light called Dust) from
the new generations. All this, to make them become people devoid of true freedom
and truth; with the intent of better
manipulating them.
Mrs.
Coulter tells Lyra, that it's best
not to talk about the Light Called Dust. Lyra and her Daemon notice that
when Mrs. Coulter talks about Dust… her monkey-shaped Daemon, becomes violent.
Finally, Lyra discovers that Mrs. Coulter is one of the Gobblers: Mrs. Coulter is a faithless parent who advises her
daughter (Lyra), that it's best not
to talk about Jesus (the Light Called Dust) and His teachings. This event, unfortunately,
occurs in our de-Christianized and secularized historical age, where the
loving teachings of the Gospel are
scorned, mocked and shunned.
Naturally, this de-Christianization has deep roots in family environments, where parents pay attention to their
children's studies and sports, ignoring
the fact that the souls (Daemons) of their descendants, also need
nourishment (Light Called Dust). This
explains one of the reasons, why young people become lustful, greedy, liars, violent, disobedient,
vicious, antisocial and full with mental problems. In other words, descendants
of rationalist families devoid of love for Jesus…
risk disconnecting from their souls and their spiritual side (Daemon), just as happens to Lyra's
friend Billy, who, after losing his Daemon (soul), becomes apathetic,
frail and devoid of memory.
Mrs. Coulter's monkey Daemon, who becomes violent when the subject of Dust is mentioned, is an allegory of a
person devoid of faith and love for God;
a person who has replaced the image of God
in his hearts, with the ultimate beast:
Satan. And, coincidentally, Mrs.
Coulter's Daemon has the
features of a monkey. And isn't
Satan, often described as... God's
monkey? All this, because Satan once wanted to proclaim himself equal and similar to God. Just
like monkeys, they resemble humans in their outward
appearance. From what has just been stated, Mrs. Coulter's Daemon, who becomes violent
when speaking of the Light called Dust… is the internalized figure of
Satan, who becomes angry when we
talk about Jesus and the virtues. Essentially, Satan bestows his
hateful and negative impulses toward everything related to God, on those who intimately follow
him (Mrs. Coulter). This
explains one of the reasons why some
people, when approaching Consecrated
places… feel nervous and filled with anger.
Mrs.
Coulter reminds us, that some people have been spoiled by their families since childhood. Raising one's children
is not easy... it requires multiple resources and knowledge. A suggestion that
can be useful to parents of children... is to establish healthy and balanced RULES.
In essence, we need to say NO; and
make descendants understand that not
everything is owed, and that parents are NOT servants to their children... but rather their educators. Beyond that, let's remember that sometimes children who
realize they're idolized by their
parents, start to become tyrants.
Ultimately, there must be rules and norms that must be RESPECTED. Otherwise, descendants can become despots; and in
the future... they're capable of treating their family members... like doormats.
Lyra runs away from Mrs. Coulter, to save her
friends Roger and Billy. Lyra is
rescued by the Gyptians from an
attack by Gobblers. The Gyptian
King, Lord Faa, is a friend of the
little girl's uncle. The Gobblers have taken Billy, who is a Gyptian:
Lyra, who runs away from Mrs.
Coulter, is the person who refuses
to follow the rationalistic and faithless directives of her parents. She does
so, in order to seek her own spiritual
side (Roger and Billy), which has been unable to
develop and expand properly, precisely because of the bad teachings she received.
The Gobblers who try to steal the children, represent Satan's slaves… who try in every way to erase
the memory of God (the Light called Dust), from people's minds. All this… through rationalistic
thoughts devoid of love and truth. At the same time, the Gobblers also symbolize
vices, which at any moment... seek
to infiltrate a heart, replacing virtues.
While the Gyptian King, Lord Faa, who saves Lyra… is a figurative image of true believers and honest
priests, who through charitable
acts and advices filled with love and truth, seek to lead people to
rediscover their love for God and their neighbor.
Lyra and the Gyptians, head north to rescue the
children. On the ship, Lyra meets Serafina
Pekkala, queen of the witch clan of Lake Enara, who says that the kidnapped
children are being taken to Bolvangar and that it will take all her courage: Serafina Pekkala is an allegory of a good parent, who seeks to instill courage and Faith in
their offspring, helping them to perceive life's difficulties through eyes
filled with truth and love.
Serafina Pekkala is also an allegory of Mary Most Holy, who helps and assists all those who humbly pray and seek to live a virtuous life. And isn't Mary Most Holy the one who, over the
centuries, has engaged a relentless battle
against Satan? And again... isn't Mary
Most Holy, who for two thousand
years... has sought in every way, to instill in her children... Love, truth,
prudence, Faith, charity, hope and courage? Thus, Mary Most Holy (Serafina
Pekkala), in numerous places
around the world, has spoken to simple and humble
children (Lyra); giving and
instilling in them… courage and wisdom. Exactly as happened in Garabandal, Fatima, Lourdes, Medjugorje and many other places around
the world. Serafina Pekkala, who
possesses a bird-Daemon named Kaisa, reminds us that the Blessed
Virgin Mary is always supported, loved
and inspired by the Holy Spirit with
His Seven Gifts. Let us reflect…
isn't the Holy Spirit, often
depicted as a wonderful and most pure Dove
(bird-Daemon)?
Lyra meets Lee Scoresby, a balloonist, at a port.
Lee says that to accomplish her feat, she needs him and an armored bear. The bear's name is Iorek, and he works as a dockworker and drinks whiskey. Iorek the bear, says he no longer has his armor, and therefore cannot go to war:
Lee Scoresby's character embodies the figure of God, who suggests to the true believer (Lyra), that to fully realize God's
will, one must commit oneself to virtue,
prayer and the humility, and benevolence of receiving the Sacraments. In this way, one's Faith
and other virtues, illustrated in
the story by the figure of Iorek the
bear, will be strengthened. Indeed, in this narrative context, Iorek the bear, weakened by drink and the loss of his armor,
symbolizes the person who is not yet ready for spiritual combat; precisely because it’s immersed in temporal goods
(the whiskey-drinking bear Iorek)
and vices. In short, to defeat heresies, the snares of Satan and his henchmen,
to shelter from the storms of life,
to avoid losing hope in moments when pain grips us with its sharp claws, to
escape occasions of sin... what must we do? We certainly cannot think of
combating all this, with our own meager strength alone. In these cases, supernatural help is necessary. And to receive this support,
we absolutely must turn to Prayer and
the Sacraments. In this way, the Holy Spirit (Light called Dust) will
infuse us with His strength (the armor of the Bear Iorek), His intellect and His wisdom.
And thus... no enemy will be able to undermine our spiritual integrity.
The bear Iorek declares, that the armor
of a bear is its soul and is
irreplaceable. Iorek the bear reiterates that he is an exile, and that he lost his armor in battle. Lyra, after consulting the Golden Compass, tells Iorek that she knows where the armor is… and that it was stolen
from him by deception. Finally, Iorek the bear takes back his armor and joins Lyra: The spiritual
armor we possess, is closely connected to the soul of the person… precisely because the soul, together with the
self, ardently desired to receive it from the Lord. And without spiritual
armor, we cannot fight the evil within ourselves and in the world. The
figure of Iorek the bear, suggests
to us that sometimes all of us... in our clashes and "battles" with sin and passions, we can also lose our spiritual armor. Indeed, even
if we have at times received armor from the Holy Spirit and were therefore in Grace, if we give in to the lure of the triple concupiscence—that
is, if we sink into lust, greed or
pride—then the Holy Spirit departs from us, along with all His gifts. The consequence of this event is tragic… because we lose our Spiritual Armor.
At the same time, Lyra, who knows where the armor of the
bear Iorek is… symbolize the soul
who suggests to her own Self (Iorek the bear), that to rediscover our
spiritual armor… we must approach
the wonderful Sacrament of Reconciliation. Where the Holy Spirit, through the infinite
merits acquired by Jesus on the Cross, restores to us Grace and
His Seven Gifts (which are… Fortitude – Fear for God – Understanding –
Wisdom – Knowledge – Piety – Good Counsel).
In a hovel, Lyra finds her friend Billy, but without his Daemon… since it has been intercised. In essence, the Gobblers detach the Daemon from the
children. Billy is therefore disconnected
from himself, and doesn’t recognize
his friend Lyra: Billy is an
allegory of those who, being in mortal sin, remain “disconnected” from their soul
(Daemon), from their spiritual side.
In other words, the story helps us understand how vices (Gobblers), are
the cause of the separation of the soul
(Daemon) from God (Light called Dust). In other words, in mortal sin, the person loses sanctifying Grace, which is the UNION of his soul… with God. This separation of the soul (Daemon) with God, makes the individual disconnected from the truth revealed by
the Lord; and consequently… the
person no longer knows how to distinguish
between right and wrong (Billy who doesn’t recognize his friend Lyra).
All this, explains why those who commit abominable acts... have no great pangs of conscience and believe they are right. As expected, the more
serious and profound the sins committed, the wider and deeper this distance between God and the soul...
becomes.
Lyra is kidnapped, and
taken to the Bear King Ragnar. Lyra
claims to be the Daemon of the bear Iorek and declares that if the King
defeats the bear Iorek, Lyra will become his Daemon: To recover the lost Grace (Lyra), the spiritual side
(the bear Iorek) of the person, must
internally defeat the rational side (the bear King Ragnar), which is attached to worldly
pleasures and lusts. All of this, is within the reach of our free will; which must decide whether to
follow the Ten Commandments or
reject them.
Lyra discovers that the
bear king Ragnar, poisoned his predecessor to rise to power.
She then challenged the bear Iorek,
to a hand-to-hand fight. Finally,
the two bears face each other, and Iorek wins: The previous king, who was poisoned by Ragnar, symbolizes the person who has lost his soul for the
simple reason that he has allowed his heart to be poisoned, by the subtle seductions of Satan and the vices (the seven deadly sins are: Pride,
Lust, Wrath, Sloth, Envy, Greed and
Gluttony). The story aims to clarify a fundamental concept for us... our earthly existence is a TEST
for each of us. The test consists in
understanding, whether we prefer to follow Jesus
or Satan. Whether we desire virtues or vices, love or hate, forgiveness
or revenge. The choice is ours.
Meanwhile Iorek's success in defeating
the Bear King Ragnar, is a figure of
speech that suggests that once we have donned the armor that comes from the Holy
Spirit, we can undoubtedly defeat
our vicious tendencies, our passions, Satan's temptations and the numerous
heresies (Bear King Ragnar) that
surround us. The reward for victory? To remain, eternally with Jesus.
Lyra arrives at the experimental station, and a guard tells
her that they help children "grow".
Lyra reunites with her friend Roger,
who reiterates that after the operation, they will no longer have to worry
about the Dust: Of course, those who
follow rationalism and hedonism (the experimental station
guard), believe that the Christian
religion is an invention of the past, created to keep children happy and to
appease the elderly or the gullible. These people believe that breaking away from
Christian beliefs (breaking away from the Daemon),
is an event of "growth"
development and progress". And to accomplish this event, they try in every
way to teach children... scientific
notions consistent with evolutionism,
which is a blasphemous theory...
which holds that human beings were not created by God, but from a single cell that developed over time. In other
words, they try to teach young people, that the truths revealed in the Bible… are nonsense to calm their
spirits. We can all perceive the results of all this... violence among people
is increasing worldwide, people are becoming depraved, murders and suicides are on the rise, drugs and
alcohol are increasingly used, children are used to "feed" the hunger for carnal sense, women are viewed as merchandise
to be traded, the poor are driven from the cities, the sick are euthanized because they are no longer
useful, the elderly are isolated in
"sappy" urban
infrastructures, women, like modern-day harpies… kill their own children in the womb.
And what about shop owners, who, to defend their deceptive properties, become cold-blooded murderers? This is what
human beings become, when deprived of Faith, truth, humility, love and God: ...a ferocious beast,
which tears and devours others. Is this really... what we desire to become?
The guardians seize Lyra,
and take her to the operating room for the intercision.
Mrs. Coulter stops the operation.
Mrs. Coulter then, declares that the children are sickened by the Dust;
and that the Dust gives them bad thoughts and sad feelings. But there is a way
to stop the Dust, to cut and remove the Daemon
from the children: Mrs. Coulter, in
this narrative context… represents a person who is a servant of Satan and vices,
who desires to corrupt others (Lyra), but without excessively cruel
coercion. In other words, Mrs. Coulter doesn’t wish for Lyra's Daemon to be taken away, but for her to transform it into a violent and brutal Daemon, like the one possessed by Mrs. Coulter herself. In fact, Mrs. Coulter's Daemon is a cunning and furious
monkey… symbolizing the soul of an individual who follows the triple
concupiscence and Satan. In short, the followers of the infernal serpent,
desire to corrupt the souls of others (Lyra), making them rebellious,
proud and envious; all this without apparent
coercion... but through
solicitations and encouragements, that push others to consider themselves
superior to all others... and with no need of God. We can observe and notice this gloomy event, in Mrs. Coulter's
description of the marvelous Light
that descends from heaven... as
"dust". That is, something
annoying, useless, unpleasant... and therefore to be swept away or eliminated.
This event, appears even
clearer to us... from the cryptic and convoluted phrases Mrs. Coulter expresses
at little Lyra. It’s no coincidence that Mrs. Coulter, who audaciously asserts
that Dust makes people sad and ill... symbolizes the individual servant of Satan, who, to convince
others to become like him... declares that the Holy Spirit (Light called Dust), is an entity that brings
sadness and bad moods. Aren't these, the same twisted phrases uttered by the lustful and the malicious? In short, these individuals, filled with hatred and rationalism, continue to reiterate... that if we follow God and His wisdom, we can no
longer enjoy sex, we can no longer steal from our neighbors, we can no longer
lie, cheat, bully and so on. Need we add anything else?
Mrs.
Coulter claims to be Lyra's mother,
while her father is Lord Asriel.
Lyra then, gives Mrs. Coulter a box.
Thinking the box contains the Golden Compass, Mrs. Coulter opens it... and is
stung by a mechanical insect, that
puts her to sleep. Lyra runs away:
Mrs. Coulter, who opens the box and
is stung by a mechanical insect,
embodies the person who rejects divine
teachings, yet who nevertheless deludes herself that within her heart (the box) there are positive and benevolent essences. But how can we
think, that someone who rejects God...
can have in their heart... feelings of truth, Love, temperance, charity,
forgiveness, purity and peace? The sleep that grips Mrs. Coulter's mind,
is the spiritual numbness and mental
blindness… that grips those who put their ego... in place of God.
The mechanical insect also
represents Satan, who, if he sees a heart
(box) devoid of love for God and neighbor... instills his deadly poison. A poison, that numbs
and confuses the minds of his
slaves.
It’s also interesting to add,
that the story tells us that within the mechanical
insect, lies an evil spirit. The
same episode occurs to those who allow thoughts filled with rationalism, heresies, lies and
selfishness… to remain in their heart
(box); in reality... each of these
events is like a mechanical insect, which carries within itself a particle of
Satan. It's no coincidence... Satan, being extremely intelligent and cunning,
uses words and concepts filled with lies, aberration, individualism,
rationalism and disbelief, to penetrate people's
hearts… and confuse them; obviously, with the intent of causing those (Ms. Coulter) who follow his malicious assertions to lose their Faith and virtue.
Finally, as often stated in
previous articles, if we reject the wisdom
of the Holy Spirit (Light called Dust), we cannot assert to possess the Light of God, which,
like a Compass (Golden Compass), shows us the most correct and right path,
to follow to reach Heaven.
Lyra tampers the machine, and the children
run away. Iorek the bear comes to
their support, against the guardians and their wolf Daemons. The witches
as well, help them escape. Lyra and her friends, head to their father: When we understand that we have
been deceived by Satan and his henchmen, we must throw away all
the heresies and lies stored in our memory. We perceive this event, as Lyra destroys the machine separating the children from the Daemons. And we should not
be surprised, that Satan and his subordinates, seeing that we try to reject their lies… begin to persecute and slander us (the guardians and their wolf Daemons). In these moments, we must Pray to the Blessed Virgin
Mary and to our guardian angels
and saints, who will immediately
come to our aid. In the story, they
are all represented by the figures of the witches
and Iorek the bear. As Lyra heads to
her father... she reminds us, that
after banishing vice and heresy, we must turn our attention to our heavenly Father: God.
The Magisterium desires to control
everyone, both in their world and in
other worlds. On the contrary, Lyra
confirms… that they must help children
without Daemons: And while those who rebel (Magisterium) against God, wish to subject others to their
rationalistic and aberrant thoughts... all those (Lyra and her friends)
who follow Jesus (Light called Dust) with Love and humility, aspire to help others rediscover Faith and virtue. All this, with the intention of restoring an inner balance,
between the self and one's soul (Daemon).

La Bussola d’Oro.
Versante Spirituale.
In questo mondo alternativo, l’anima degli abitanti, vive accanto a loro… sotto forma di animale spirito, che si chiama Daemon. Gli animali Daemon, soffrono
esattamente quanto patiscono i loro proprietari. Inoltre, i Daemon dei bimbi possono cambiare forma, poiché non si sono stabilizzati; mentre i Daemon
degli adulti, non mutano forma: Uno dei temi principali del racconto “
Al contempo, il Daemon
che cambia forma solo nei bambini e fanciulle, simboleggia la vivacità, dinamicità e benevolenza, che
possiedono le persone umili che
seguono gli insegnamenti evangelici.
Come ha dichiarato Gesù nei Vangeli, il vero cristiano sa essere prudente come la serpe e semplice come le
colombe. In altre parole, gli individui umili
(fanciulli e bimbi) che seguono con verità e giustizia i Dieci Comandamenti, i Sacramenti
e le virtù, riescono ad essere elastici (Daemon che muta forma) di
fronte alle intemperie della vita; ed altresì, riescono a discernere con migliore
veridicità, ciò che gli accade. In definitiva, gli animali Daemon dei fanciulli
e bimbi che mutano e si evolvono, raffigurano il vero credente, il quale sa essere astuto come una serpe per evitare
i vizi, le insidie di Satana e dei suoi schiavi… ma sa altrettanto divenire colomba di pace e amore, con i
bisognosi ed i sofferenti. Il tutto ovviamente, deve essere “condito” con una
cospicua dose di umiltà.
Al contrario, gli adulti
che non sanno più mutare il loro Daemon,
sono un emblema di coloro che si credono più “grandi” e migliori del prossimo: i superbi e vanagloriosi. E proprio per questo motivo, i presuntuosi
hanno una mentalità chiusa,
ristretta e limitata; il loro pensiero consiste nel sentirsi superiori agli
altri, di prevalere sul prossimo, e non sanno essere caritatevoli né tantomeno empatici
verso coloro che soffrono. Ed altresì i vanagloriosi e gli arroganti, rimangono
imperterriti nei loro giudizi e pensieri privi
di verità ed amore. In breve, i superbi (persone adulte del racconto),
sono privi di elasticità mentale, e
non vogliono riconoscere di poter errare. Ecco che la loro anima (Daemon) non sa adattarsi alle necessità
del momento, come i loro cuori induriti… i quali rimangono radicati nel peccato
e nella disobbedienza ai Dieci Comandamenti.
I mondi sono collegati tra loro dalla Luce chiamata… Polvere. Gli Accademici
hanno inventato un Aletiometro, che
è una Bussola d’Oro che mostra e svela tutto ciò che è
nascosto. Ma il potere regnante, detenuto dai Magisterium, temendo qualsiasi verità
oltre la propria… ha cercato di distruggere questi strumenti; proibendo altresì
ogni accenno alla Polvere: I mondi
che sono collegati tra loro dalla Luce
chiamata Polvere, effigiano le
persone che sono tutte collegate tra
loro da Dio. Difatti, il Signore è Onnipresente ovunque, sia sulla Terra che oltre. Da quanto appena
enunciato, possiamo comprendere come tutti gli esseri umani, sono sotto lo sguardo amoroso di Dio, e pertanto siamo tutti immersi nei meravigliosi donativi
dello Spirito Santo (Luce chiamata Polvere).
I Sette Doni dello Spirito Santo, sono: Timor
di Dio - Fortezza - Intelletto - Scienza - Sapienza - Pietà - Buon Consiglio.
Gli Accademici
sono un’allegoria delle anime
sacerdotali, le quali sono le dispensatrici dei doni provenienti dalla Santissima Trinità. In questo contesto,
lo strumento chiamato Aletiometro o Bussola d’Oro, effigia il meraviglioso
dono della Sapienza che proviene
dallo Spirito Santo. Non è forse il
dono della Sapienza, che ci fa
comprendere le verità nascoste?
Esattamente come agisce
I detentori del potere, il Magisterium, che hanno cercato di distruggere tutte le Bussole d’Oro del loro mondo, simboleggiano
il potere politico corrotto, i
plutocrati, i razionalisti, le persone amorali e ribelli ai Dieci Comandamenti ed i superbi di
tutti i tempi… i quali cercano in tutti i modi, di distruggere le verità (Bussola d’Oro) rivelate da Dio e dai suoi profeti (Lyra); e
cercano altresì di annichilire ogni verità che proviene dallo Spirito Santo (Luce chiamata Polvere).
Non è forse questa, la realtà che viviamo quotidianamente? Basta osservare le
feste cristiane, che vengono confinate o sostituite da feste pagane. I crocifissi vengono tolti dalle scuole e
dagli ospedali. La religione la si vuole relegare ad un fatto privato. I Santi e Profeti vengono calunniati e derisi (come è successo a Padre Pio e Maria Valtorta). Le apparizioni
Mariane sono contrastate, e coloro che sono i depositari dei meravigliosi
concetti e verità della vergine Maria,
vengono considerati dei mistificatori. Nelle scuole si è abolita l’ora di
religione. Nelle famiglie non si prega più. E si potrebbe continuare all’infinito… Per farla breve,
proprio come ci viene ampiamente descritto nel racconto, coloro che detengono
il potere temporale, i superbi, gli avari, i lussuriosi, gli irosi, i massoni,
gli invidiosi e i servi di Satana, cercano di allontanare la “Luce chiamata Polvere” dello Spirito Santo,
per poter agire in maniera indisturbata nel compiere opere inique e blasfeme.
In questo modo, credono di distruggere il pensiero di Dio, nella mente e nei cuori dell’intera umanità.
Per fortuna rimane una Bussola d’Oro; e una sola persona è in grado di leggerla,
precisamente una bambina orfana di nome Lyra.
Difatti il maestro del college, dona a Lyra
Il Magisterium
e la signora Coulter, proprio per le
loro caratteristiche simili nel voler fare quello che vogliono e che smaniano e
desiderano comandare… simboleggiano il
potere politico e le persone superbe.
Categorie che non possono leggere e
comprendere
Un amico di Lyra
di nome Roger, viene deriso dai suoi
coetanei. Il bimbo viene inseguito da fanciulli gyziani; uno di loro si chiama Billy.
Lyra salva Roger, e dice a Billy che riuscirà a rubare una toga, per riscattare il suo amico: Roger e Billy effigiano i due versanti, che ognuno di noi
possiede. Roger è il versante spirituale che tende verso Dio, la giustizia, l’equità e l’amore.
Mentre al contrario, Billy è il
versante istintuale, che ricerca i
piaceri mondani e segue le proprie passioni e concupiscenze. Lyra in questo
contesto narrativo, illustra un Io
che deve decidere da che parte stare; e che deve cercare di conciliare e
mediare tra queste due forze tra
loro discordanti.
La toga che
serve a Lyra per riscattare Roger, è un emblema della “veste spirituale” che occorre
indossare, per far parte del banchetto celeste: il Paradiso. E naturalmente, per portare a termine questo fulgido
traguardo, occorre perseverare nel bene e nell’equità, per tutta
la vita terrena. In altre parole, il racconto ci suggerisce che per raggiungere
la patria celeste, non basta
conseguire alcune vittorie, ma necessita rimanere saldi nella Fede e nelle
virtù, fino alla fine dei nostri
giorni terreni. Solo allora avremo la veste (toga) legittima, per vivere nelle beatitudini celesti. In altri termini… è vero che tutti noi esseri
umani siamo Salvi per il Sacrificio che Gesù ha fatto per tutti noi sul Golgota, ma è altrettanto vero…
che dobbiamo seguire le virtù e i Dieci Comandamenti, se vogliamo salvare la nostra anima. Perché sottolineare
questo concetto? Poiché purtroppo, a volte si sente dire che siamo salvi a prescindere…
e quindi possiamo continuare a peccare a volontà. Ma tutto ciò, non corrisponde
alla verità. Rammentiamoci, che uno dei peccati contro lo Spirito Santo, ci dice che… pensare di salvarsi senza merito… è un grande peccato
contro la verità e l’amore.
Lyra quando avverte sopraggiungere altre persone, si nasconde in un armadio. Così Lyra è in grado di
scorgere uno del Magisterium, che
cerca di avvelenare suo zio, Lord Asriel. Ma Lyra salva lo
zio: Come si può salvare una persona
(Lord Asriel), dal “veleno” dell’eresia, modernismo e del razionalismo? Ci si può salvare dal
razionalismo ed edonismo, se si nasconde nel proprio cuore (armadio), l’umiltà e
Lord Asriel, lo zio di Lyra, spiega a quelli del Magisterium, che una strana Luce scende dal cielo; e conferma che è
Mentre Lord
Asriel che viene dichiarato eretico da uno del Magisterium, effigia il vero credente che viene criticato,
calunniato e deriso, da coloro che seguono con arroganza le proprie passioni, il potere, i vizi e
l’edonismo.
È interessante aggiungere, che la diversa forma animale che possiedono i Daemon, simboleggia la diversità di come una persona accoglie le
molteplici luci sapienziali (Luce
chiamata Polvere) che provengono da Dio.
In questa circostanza, la piccola Lyra
che ha un Daemon simpatico, umile e veritiero… è un emblema dell’anima umile di una persona, che sa cogliere i suggerimenti provenienti dal Signore
(Luce chiamata Polvere). Al
contrario della signora Coulter, la
quale avendo un’anima ribelle, aggressiva e superba (Daemon a forma
di scimmia), non riesce a cogliere i
suggerimenti, ispirazioni e benevolenze… che provengono dallo Spirito Santo.
Non possiamo concludere questo affascinante discorso,
senza tener presente che la meravigliosa Luce
che scende dal cielo chiamata Polvere, simboleggia altresì
Lord Asriel vuole scoprire questi mondi sconosciuti, e per
compiere questa traversata… chiede un finanziamento al Concilium. Lord Asriel proferisce che il Concilium ha sfidato il Magisterium,
proprio perché parla della Luce chiamata Polvere: Lord Asriel che per scoprire
i mondi sconosciuti chiede aiuto al Concilium,
è il vero credente che per compiere
il lungo percorso della Fede e delle
virtù, chiede collaborazione alla Chiesa (Concilium). Non a caso, dobbiamo rammentare che per sviluppare la
propria Fede, umiltà, speranza,
giustizia, prudenza e amore per Dio
e per il prossimo, occorre il soccorso di Dio. In che modo? Mediante
la Preghiera, i Sacramenti e gli insegnamenti
evangelici. Al contrario, se abbiamo desiderio di fare da soli… dopo un po’ di tempo, ci
sentiremo sopraffatti dalla stanchezza
spirituale, dall’apatia, e ricadremo nei vizi e dissolutezze. Non
scordiamo, che a causa del peccato originale, l’essere umano non possiede più
l’integrità fisica, psichica e soprattutto spirituale,
che avevano i nostri progenitori Adamo ed Eva.
Per concludere, il Magisterium
che si oppone agli insegnamenti del Concilium,
illustra tutti coloro che, discepoli del potere e della triplice concupiscenza…
cercano in tutti i modi, di ostacolare
quanti seguono con amore e verità, Gesù e i Suoi insegnamenti.
Gli Ingoiatori,
sono persone che rubano i bambini,
soprattutto i bimbi poveri, gli orfani e i bambini servi: Gli Ingoiatori
sono un emblema degli schiavi di
Satana, dei ribelli alle leggi d’amore istituite da Dio nei cuori di tutta l’umanità. Il compito di questi individui, è
di accrescere nel mondo il razionalismo, le eresie, di coprire con molteplici
menzogne le verità rivelate da Dio,
di spaventare i credenti, di perseguitare
coloro che possiedono il dono della Fede,
di far insuperbire gli umili, di riempire le menti delle persone di
relativismo, modernismo ed edonismo. In sostanza, queste persone inique, cercano di corrompere i poveri con il denaro
(bimbi poveri del racconto); altresì
cercano di traviare coloro che possiedono una fede debole o che hanno problemi
psichici (bimbi orfani del
racconto), riempiendoli di nozioni
errate e menzognere; ed infine…
cercano di allontanare sempre di più dalla Fede
e dalla verità, tutti coloro (bimbi servi) che seguono e tallonano i beni
temporali o il proprio Ego. In parole povere, questi individui schiavi di
Satana, cercano di “rubare” l’anima
delle persone, esattamente come gli Ingoiatori,
cercano di staccare il Daemon dai fanciulli rapiti.
La signora
Coulter proferisce a Lyra, che
il Re degli orsi Ragnar, desidera un
Daemon tutto per lui, poiché loro
non hanno un Daemon. E il Re vuole considerarsi una persona. La signora Coulter
vuole Lyra come assistente, per andare al nord: Il Re degli orsi Ragnar, raffigura la persona che pur
vivendo nel peccato e nei vizi, comprende intimamente di avere qualcosa che non
va. Percepisce i rimorsi della coscienza, la quale gli suggerisce che vivendo
nel peccato e nella disobbedienza ai
Dieci Comandamenti, rischia di perdere
l’anima (Daemon) per sempre. Questo evento mostrato del racconto, ci sprona
a comprendere sempre meglio ciò che realizza lo Spirito Santo nei cuori di tutti noi esseri umani: ritrovare la
propria spiritualità e il sorriso di Dio. Infatti, il Signore
proprio come un Buon Pastore,
ricerca la pecorella smarrita, cioè
il peccatore indurito… per
riportarlo nell’ovile dell’amore. Dio
non si comporta come tutti noi, che appena percepiamo che qualcuno non la pensa
come noi, lo abbandoniamo o denigriamo. Gesù
cerca in tutti i modi di spronarci a tornare a Lui, mediante suggerimenti (Luce
chiamata Polvere) alla nostra
anima (Daemon) ed alla nostra
coscienza.
Oltre al resto, il Re degli orsi Ragnar, è l’individuo che aspira a divenire credente; tuttavia non
per amore di Dio e del prossimo… ma
solo per aumentare il proprio amor
proprio e vanità. Questo lo possiamo capire dalle azioni che egli ha
compiuto, che sono prive di amore e
misericordia; come quando ha ucciso il
precedente Re… avvelenandolo.
Questo evento, ci rammenta i crocifissori
di Gesù… i quali si inginocchiavano di fronte a Lui, ma non prima di averlo deriso ed avergli messo in testa una
corona di spine. In sostanza… esistono, purtroppo, falsi cristiani e falsi
sacerdoti, che anche se all’apparenza
sembrano lodare, amare e seguire gli insegnamenti evangelici… nel loro profondo

Le persone del Magisterium
tramano di nascosto, e dicono che il Concilium
ha dato i fondi a Lord Asriel, e che
se egli proverà che esistono altri mondi, verranno contraddetti secoli di
insegnamenti, e ci saranno sempre dei liberi
pensatori. Dopodiché asseriscono che i dottori a Bolvangar, sono sul punto
di perfezionare l'inoculazione,
contro gli effetti della Polvere. Le
persone del Magisterium vogliono proteggere i loro figli dall'influenza della Polvere, prima che i loro Daemon si stabilizzino. Educando così,
una generazione che non mette in discussione la loro autorità: Le persone del Magisterium,
sono un chiaro emblema dei razionalisti,
modernisti e plutocrati, che cercano in tutti i modi di far tacere le verità Evangeliche;
proprio perché temono di essere contraddetti dalla rettitudine che scaturisce
dalla parola di Dio (Luce chiamata Polvere). Se ci riflettiamo, coloro che seguono il male, l’odio,
la lussuria e il potere… sanno bene che unicamente nella menzogna, nel nascondimento e quindi nell’ignoranza del popolo, possono continuare a svolgere le loro losche trame, intrighi e bramosie. Ecco
perché molteplici regimi totalitari (Magisterium)
nel corso dei secoli, hanno perseguitato
Il processo dell'inoculazione
che separa i bambini dai loro Daemon, simboleggia il modo in
cui questi servi dei vizi e del razionalismo, desiderano agire per eliminare
La signora Coulter dice a Lyra, che è meglio non parlare della Luce chiamata Polvere.
Lyra e il suo Daemon, notano che
quando la signora Coulter parla della Polvere…
il suo Daemon a forma di scimmia
diviene violento. Infine, Lyra
scopre che la signora Coulter, fa parte degli Ingoiatori: La signora Coulter
è un genitore privo di Fede, che suggerisce alla figlia (Lyra), che è meglio non parlare di Gesù (Luce chiamata Polvere) e
dei Suoi insegnamenti. Questo evento, purtroppo avviene nella nostra epoca
storica scristianizzata e secolarizzata,
dove gli amorevoli insegnamenti
Evangelici vengono disprezzati, derisi ed evitati. Naturalmente, questa
scristianizzazione ha radici profonde proprio negli ambienti familiari, dove i
genitori prestano attenzione allo studio e sport dei loro figli, non tenendo
conto che anche l’anima (Daemon) dei discendenti, ha bisogno di nutrimento (Luce chiamata Polvere).
Ecco spiegata una delle ragioni del perché i giovani divengono lussuriosi,
avari, mentitori, violenti, disubbidienti, viziosi, asociali e colmi di
problemi psichici. In altre parole, i discendenti che provengono da famiglie razionaliste e prive di amore verso Gesù,
rischiano di disconnettersi dalla
loro anima e dal loro versante
spirituale (Daemon), esattamente
come avviene all’amico di Lyra, che si chiama Billy; il quale dopo aver smarrito
il suo Daemon (anima), diviene apatico,
fragile e privo di memoria.
Il Daemon-scimmia
della signora Coulter, che diviene violento quando si parla della Polvere, è un’allegoria della persona priva di Fede e di amore verso Dio;
la quale ha sostituito nel proprio cuore l’immagine di Dio con la bestia per
eccellenza: Satana. E guarda caso, il Daemon
della signora Coulter ha le fattezze di una scimmia. E non è forse Satana, definito spesse volte… la scimmia di Dio? Tutto ciò, poiché Satana in passato, ha voluto proclamare se
stesso pari e simile a Dio. Esattamente come le scimmie, sono simili agli esseri umani nel loro aspetto esteriore. Da quanto
appena enunciato, ecco che il Daemon della signora Coulter che diviene violento quando si parla della Luce chiamata Polvere, è la figura interiorizzata di Satana, che si arrabbia quando si parla di Gesù e delle
virtù. In sostanza, Satana dona i suoi impulsi colmi di odio e
negatività, verso tutto ciò che ha a che fare con Dio, a coloro che intimamente lo seguono (signora Coulter).
Ecco spiegato uno dei motivi del perché alcune persone, all’avvicinarsi di
luoghi Consacrati, si sentono nervosi e colmi d’ira.
La signora
Coulter ci ricorda, che alcune persone sin dall’infanzia… sono state viziate dai loro familiari. Educare i
propri figli non è facile… occorrono molteplici risorse e cognizioni. Un
suggerimento che può essere utile ai
genitori che hanno dei figli… consiste nel porre delle regole sane ed equilibrate. In sostanza, necessita dichiarare dei NO; e far capire ai discendenti, che
non tutto è dovuto, e che i genitori NON
sono dei servi dei figli… ma i
loro educatori. Oltre al resto,
rammentiamoci che a volte i figli che capiscono che sono idolatrati dai loro genitori, iniziano a divenire dei tiranni. In definitiva, ci devono
essere delle regole e delle norme, che devono essere rispettate. In caso contrario, i
discendenti possono divenire dei despoti;
e in futuro… sono capaci di trattare i loro familiari… come fossero degli zerbini.
Lyra fugge via dalla signora Coulter,
per salvare i suoi amici Roger e Billy. Lyra viene messa in salvo dai gyziani dall’attacco di alcuni Ingoiatori.
Il Re dei gyziani Lord Faa, è amico
dello zio della bimba. Gli Ingoiatori hanno preso Billy, che è un gyziano: Lyra che fugge via dalla signora
Coulter, è la persona che si rifiuta di seguire le direttive razionalistiche e
prive di Fede dei propri genitori.
Il tutto per ricercare il proprio versante spirituale
(Roger e Billy), che non ha potuto svilupparsi e ampliarsi con correttezza,
proprio a causa dei cattivi insegnamenti
ricevuti.
Gli Ingoiatori
che cercano di derubare i bambini,
rappresentano gli schiavi di Satana,
che cercano in tutti i modi di eliminare dalla mente delle persone, il ricordo di Dio (Luce chiamata Polvere). Tutto ciò, attraverso i
pensieri razionalistici e privi di amore e verità. Allo stesso tempo, gli
Ingoiatori simboleggiano anche i vizi,
i quali in ogni momento… cercano di far breccia in un cuore, per sostituirsi
alle virtù.
Mentre il Re dei gyziani Lord Faa, che salva Lyra, è un’immagine figurata dei veri credenti e dei onesti sacerdoti, che mediante atti
caritatevoli e consigli colmi di amore e verità, cercano di condurre le persone
a recuperare l’amore verso Dio e il prossimo.
Lyra e i gyziani si dirigono al
nord, per salvare i bambini. Lyra
sulla nave conosce Serafina Pekkala,
regina del clan delle streghe del
lago Enara, la quale dice che i bimbi rapiti vengono portati a Bolvangar e che ci vorrà tutto il suo
coraggio: Serafina Pekkala è
un’allegoria di un buon genitore,
che cerca di infondere coraggio e Fede al discendente; il tutto
aiutandolo a percepire le difficoltà della vita con occhi colmi di verità e amore. Serafina Pekkala è altresì un’allegoria di Maria Santissima, la quale aiuta e
soccorre tutti quelli che con umiltà…
pregano e cercano di vivere una vita
virtuosa. E non è forse Maria Santissima colei che nel corso
dei secoli, ha ingaggiato un’autorevole lotta contro Satana? Ed ancora… non è
forse Maria Santissima, che da
duemila anni… cerca in ogni modo di infondere nei suoi figli… amore, verità, prudenza, fede, carità,
speranza e coraggio? Ecco che Maria Santissima (Serafina Pekkala), in numerosi luoghi del Mondo, ha parlato con semplici ed umili fanciulli (Lyra), donandogli e infondendogli
coraggio e sapienza. Esattamente
come è avvenuto a Garabandal, Fatima, Lourdes, Medjugorje e
tanti altri luoghi nel mondo. Serafina Pekkala che possiede un Daemon-volatile chiamato Kaisa, ci
rammenta che Maria Santissima è
sempre sostenuta, amata e ispirata dallo Spirito
Santo con i suoi Sette Donativi.
Riflettiamo… non è lo Spirito Santo, sovente raffigurato come una meravigliosa e
purissima Colomba (Daemon-volatile)?
Lyra in un porto, incontra Lee
Scoresby, che è un aeronauta che
vola con un pallone volante. Lee dice che la bimba, per compiere la sua
impresa, ha bisogno di lui e di un orso
corazzato. L'orso si chiama Iorek,
e lavora come scaricatore di porto e beve
whisky. L’orso Iorek dice che
non ha più l'armatura, e per questo
non può andare in guerra: Il personaggio di Lee Scoresby effigia la figura di Dio, il quale suggerisce al vero
credente (Lyra), che per
realizzare pienamente la volontà di Dio,
occorre impegnarsi nelle virtù,
nella Preghiera e nell’accogliere
con umiltà e benevolenza… i Sacramenti. In questo modo, si
rafforzerà la propria Fede e le altre virtù, illustrate nel racconto
dalla figura dell’orso Iorek.
Invero, in questo ambito narrativo, l’orso Iorek che è indebolito dal bere e dalla privazione della propria armatura, simboleggia la persona che
non è ancora pronta per il combattimento spirituale; proprio perché si trova
immersa nei beni temporali (l’orso
Iorek che beve whisky) e nei vizi.
Insomma, per sconfiggere le eresie, le insidie di Satana e dei suoi accoliti,
per ripararsi dalle intemperie della vita, per non perdere la speranza nei momenti dove il dolore ci
afferra con le sue unghie acuminate, per sfuggire alle occasioni di peccato…
cosa occorre fare? Non possiamo certo pensare di combattere tutto ciò, con le
sole nostre misere forze. In questi casi, è necessario un aiuto soprannaturale. E per accogliere
questo sostegno, occorre assolutamente ricorrere alla Preghiera ed ai Sacramenti.
In questo modo, lo Spirito Santo (Luce chiamata Polvere) ci infonderà la Sua
forza (armatura dell’Orso
Iorek), il suo intelletto e la sua sapienza. E così… nessun nemico potrà scalfire
la nostra integrità spirituale.
L’orso Iorek
dichiara che l’armatura di un orso è
la sua anima, ed è insostituibile.
L’orso Iorek ribadisce che è un esiliato, e che ha perso l’armatura in un
combattimento. Lyra dopo aver
consultato
Al contempo, Lyra
che sa dove si trova l’armatura
dell’orso Iorek, è l’anima che suggerisce al proprio Io (orso Iorek), che per
ritrovare l’armatura spirituale,
occorre accostarsi al meraviglioso Sacramento
della Riconciliazione. Dove lo Spirito Santo, per gli infiniti meriti
acquisiti da Gesù sulla Croce, ci ridona
In una catapecchia, Lyra ritrova il suo amico Billy,
ma privo del suo Daemon… poiché è stato interciso.
In sostanza, gli Ingoiatori staccano il Daemon dai bambini. Billy è quindi disconnesso da se stesso, e non
riconosce l’amica Lyra: Billy è
un’allegoria di coloro che essendo in peccato
mortale, rimangono “disconnessi”
dalla loro anima (Daemon), dal loro versante spirituale.
In altre parole, il racconto ci fa comprendere, come i vizi (Ingoiatori), sono
la causa della separazione dell’anima (Daemon)
da Dio (Luce chiamata Polvere).
In altri termini, nel peccato mortale la persona perde
Lyra viene rapita e condotta dal Re degli orsi Ragnar. Lyra dice di essere il Daemon
dell’orso Iorek, e dichiara che se il Re
sconfigge l’orso Iorek, Lyra
diventerà il suo Daemon: Per recuperare
Lyra scopre che il Re orso Ragnar per salire al potere, ha avvelenato il suo predecessore.
Dopodiché ha sfidato l’orso Iorek in un corpo a corpo. Infine, i due orsi si affrontano; e Iorek vince: Il precedente Re che si è fatto avvelenare da Ragnar,
simboleggia la persona che ha perso la propria anima per il semplice motivo che si è fatta irretire, ed avvelenare il cuore… dalle subdole seduzioni di Satana e dei vizi (i sette vizi capitali sono: – Superbia
– Lussuria – Ira – Accidia – Invidia – Avarizia – Gola). Il
racconto ci vuole chiarire un concetto fondamentale… la nostra esistenza terrena, è una PROVA per ognuno di noi. La prova consiste nel comprendere se
preferiamo seguire Gesù, oppure
Satana. Se desideriamo le virtù o i
vizi, l’amore oppure l’odio, il perdono o la vendetta. A noi la scelta.
Mentre Iorek
che riesce a sconfiggere il Re orso Ragnar, è una metafora che ci
suggerisce che allorquando ci siamo rivestiti dell’armatura che proviene dallo Spirito
Santo, possiamo indubbiamente sconfiggere
le nostre tendenze viziose, le nostre passionalità, le tentazioni di Satana e
le numerose eresie (Re orso Ragnar) che ci circondano. Il premio della vittoria?
Rimanere in eterno con Gesù.
Lyra arriva alla stazione sperimentale, e una guardia gli dice che loro aiutano i bambini a “crescere”. Lyra
ritrova il suo amico Roger, il quale
ribadisce che dopo l'operazione, non dovranno più preoccuparsi della Polvere: Ovviamente, coloro che seguono
il razionalismo e l’edonismo (guardia della stazione sperimentale),
credono che la religione cristiana
sia un’invenzione del passato, per tenere buoni i bambini e per abbonire gli
anziani o i creduloni. Queste persone, ritengono che lo staccarsi dalle credenze cristiane (staccarsi dal Daemon),
sia un evento di “crescita”, di sviluppo e progresso. E per compiere questo
evento, cercano in tutti i modi di insegnare ai bimbi… le nozioni scientifiche
conformi all’evoluzionismo, che è
una teoria blasfema… la quale ritiene
che l’essere umano non è stato creato da Dio,
ma da una monocellula che si è sviluppata nel corso del tempo. In altre parole,
si cerca di insegnare ai giovani, che le verità
rivelate nella Bibbia, sono
sciocchezze per acquietare gli animi. I risultati di tutto ciò, li possiamo
percepite tutti… si incrementa nel mondo la violenza nei popoli e nei giovani, le persone divengono dei depravati, aumentano gli omicidi e i suicidi, si utilizzano
sempre di più le droghe e gli
alcolici, i bambini vengono usati per “sfamare”
le fami del senso, le donne vengono visualizzate come
prodotti da mercanteggiare, i poveri
vengono allontanati dalle città, gli ammalati
vengono soppressi con l’eutanasia… perché non servono più, gli anziani vengono isolati in “sdolcinate”
infrastrutture cittadine, le donne come novelle arpie… uccidono i propri figli nel loro grembo. E che dire dei proprietari di negozi, che per difendere le
loro fallaci proprietà… divengono assassini
a sangue freddo? Ecco cosa diviene l’essere umano, se viene privato della Fede, verità, umiltà, dell’amore e di Dio: …una bestia feroce che sbrana e divora il prossimo. È veramente questo…
ciò che desideriamo diventare?
I guardiani
prendono Lyra, e la portano nella
stanza dell’intervento per l’intercisione.
La signora Coulter ferma l’intervento. Dopodiché la signora Coulter, dichiara che i bimbi sono ammalati dalla Polvere;
e che
Questo evento, ci appare ancora più chiaro… dalle frasi
sibilline e contorte che la signora
Coulter esprime alla piccola Lyra.
Non a caso, la signora Coulter che asserisce con sfrontatezza, che
La signora
Coulter dichiara di essere la madre di Lyra, mentre il padre è lord Asriel.
Dopodiché, Lyra dona alla signora Coulter una scatola. La donna, pensando che nella scatola si trova
È altresì interessante aggiungere, che nel racconto ci
viene detto che all’interno dell’insetto
meccanico, si trova uno spirito
maligno. Lo stesso episodio, avviene a coloro che fanno permanere nel loro
cuore (scatola), i pensieri colmi di
razionalismo, eresie, menzogne ed
egoismo; in realtà… ognuno di questi eventi, è come un insetto meccanico, che porta con sé nel proprio intimo, una
particella di Satana. Non a caso… Satana, essendo intelligentissimo e
furbissimo, utilizza le parole e concetti colmi di menzogna, aberrazione, individualismo, razionalismo e miscredenze,
per penetrare nei cuori delle
persone e confonderli; naturalmente con l’intento di far smarrire
Per finire, come sovente esposto nei precedenti
articoli, se respingiamo le luci
sapienziali dello Spirito Santo (Luce chiamata Polvere),
non si può pretendere di possedere la Luce
di Dio, la quale come una Bussola
(Bussola d’Oro) ci indica la strada più giusta e corretta da seguire, per raggiungere il
Paradiso.
Lyra manomette il macchinario, e
i bimbi fuggono via. L’orso Iorek viene in loro aiuto, contro i
guardiani ed i loro Daemon lupi.
Anche le streghe li aiutano a
fuggire via. Lyra si dirige con i suoi amici, dal padre: Quando abbiamo compreso di essere stati ingannati da Satana e dai suoi accoliti, dobbiamo allontanare tutte
le eresie e menzogne immagazzinate nella nostra memoria. Questo evento, lo
percepiamo da Lyra che distrugge il macchinario che divide i bimbi dai Daemon. E non ci deve meravigliare che Satana ed i suoi servi,
vedendo che cerchiamo di rifiutare le loro menzogne, comincino a perseguitarci e calunniarci (guardiani e
i loro lupi Daemon). In questi
momenti, occorre pregare Maria
Santissima ed i nostri angeli e santi protettoti, i quali ci verranno
subitamente in soccorso. Nel
racconto, sono tutti effigiati dalle figure delle streghe e dell’orso Iorek.
Mentre Lyra che si dirige da suo padre… ci ricorda che dopo aver
allontanato i vizi e le eresie, occorre volgere la nostra attenzione al Padre celeste: Dio.
Il Magisterium
desidera controllare tutti, sia nel
loro mondo che negli altri mondi. Al contrario, Lyra conferma che devono aiutare i bimbi senza Daemon: E mentre i ribelli a Dio, desiderano assoggettare il prossimo ai loro pensieri colmi di
razionalismo ed aberrazione… tutti coloro (Lyra
e i suoi amici) che seguono con amore ed umiltà Gesù (Luce chiamata Polvere), aspirano ad aiutare il prossimo nel ritrovare
