Demonic
possession, is the most recurring of illnesses; and only in a humble person...
does it truly die.
I have just received Holy Communion, offered for my return
and for the Belfantis' safe journey. And while I pray, especially for Paola, whom I would like to see supernaturally
and even humanly happy, as she deserves; I also reflect on Giuseppe... Often,
very often... I reflect on him and on many aspects of his ironclad self. And I
ask myself: "Will he really be freed? Will he really be on the right path? Will he be able to stay
there? And will he be able to proceed, until he dies a Catholic?"
Jesus, who never abandoned
me during these seven days, during which I suffered the abandonment of my
relatives—and His presence removed
the excessiveness of this suffering; so much so that I regarded it as a
disgusting event, but not really mine. An event that happens, but that barely
touches me… because other things protect us from it.
Jesus tells me: “Don't
delude yourself too much. He is sincere, but he is not firm. He has too
much pride. And pride... is the ground on which Satan sets foot, to resume
his work on a heart that has been torn from him.
Judas, and with him many
others... had sincere desires for good and sincere returns to Good. But then, he gave in to the urges
of Evil, which seemed close to dying within him, and he caressed it. Evil then
felt itself the strongest, and it regained courage and life. Demonic possession,
is the most recurrent of illnesses... and only in a humble person... does it truly die. But a possessed person, is
rarely humble. Pride is the first
seed, that Satan sows”.
“But You said… that ‘You love
him, because You see him sincere and
willing to follow the Truth.’
So what?”
“So what…? Now he is. Even
Judas was like that, when he came to Me
with the intention of being My
disciple or returning to be one. But then… you saw it! So many Judases! So many
unhappy people! Everywhere! In homes, in offices, in convents.
Superiors, have an attentive
and open spiritual eye. Tell that,
to Father Migliorini. These wretches don’t always want to be like that. But
they are NOT strong and firm enough.
The superior must supervise and support them, and supervise himself.”
“In what way?”
“Oh! In many things! Be careful
in electing them to special positions, and to special duties… be careful in
admitting them to secret knowledge. Especially with the young… so poorly educated
in this day and age! Where are the Johns
of Zebedee? Where are the deacons like Lawrence?
Be careful! Be careful! Be careful!
Enough, now. Be in My
peace”.

1944:
La possessione demoniaca è la più
recidivante delle malattie; e solo in un umile… muore realmente.
Ho fatto ora la S. Comunione, offerta per il mio ritorno e per un felice viaggio dei Belfanti. E mentre prego, soprattutto per Paola che vorrei sapere felice soprannaturalmente e anche umanamente, come lo merita; rifletto anche a Giuseppe… Sovente, ben sovente… rifletto su lui e su molti punti del suo farraginoso Io. E mi chiedo: “Sarà proprio liberato? Sarà proprio sulla via buona? Vi saprà stare? E vi saprà procedere sino a morire da cattolico?”.
Gesù, che non mi ha mai abbandonata in questi sette giorni, in cui ho
sofferto l’abbandono dei parenti – e
la Sua presenza ha levato a questa
sofferenza, il troppo che avrebbe avuto; di modo che l’ho guardata come un
fatto disgustoso ma non proprio mio. Un avvenimento che accade, ma che appena
coinvolge… perché altre cose ci preservano da esso.
Gesù mi dice: “Non illuderti molto. È sincero, ma non è fermo. Troppo orgoglio
è in lui. E l’orgoglio… è il terreno su cui Satana riappoggia il suo piede,
per riintraprendere la sua opera su un cuore che gli è stato strappato.
Giuda, e con lui molti altri… ha avuto sinceri desideri
di bene e ritorni sinceri al Bene.
Ma poi, ha ceduto ai conati del Male che pareva prossimo a morire in lui, e l’ha
accarezzato. Il Male si è allora sentito il più forte, e ha ripreso ardire e
vita. La possessione demoniaca è la
più recidivante delle malattie… e solo in un umile… muore realmente. Ma difficilmente un posseduto è umile. La
superbia è il primo seme, che semina Satana”.
“Ma Tu, hai
detto… che “lo ami, perché lo vedi
schietto e volonteroso nel seguire la Verità”
E allora?”.
“E allora…? Ora
è tale. Anche Giuda era tale, quando veniva a Me con intenzione d’essermi discepolo o di ritornare ad esserlo. Ma
poi… lo hai visto! Quanti Giuda!
Quanti infelici! Da per tutto! Nelle case, negli uffici, nei conventi.
I superiori, abbiano occhio spirituale attento e
aperto. Dillo a Padre Migliorini. Non sempre questi disgraziati vogliono esser
tali. Ma NON sono sufficientemente forti e fermi. Il superiore li deve sorvegliare
e sorreggere, e sorvegliarsi”.
“In che?”.
“Oh! In molte cose! Attenzione nell’eleggerli a cariche
speciali, e a speciali incarichi… attenzione nell’ammetterli a conoscenze
segrete. Specie con i giovani… così poco formati nel tempo attuale! Dove sono
mai, i Giovanni di Zebedeo? Dove, i
diaconi come Lorenzo? Attenzione!
Attenzione! Attenzione!
Basta, ora. Sta’ con la Mia pace”.
